It’s obvious what 9 wanted the narrative to be. It was Penrith’s night and Melbourne were just supposed to be there. Thankfully with the Storm dominating for 70 minutes, it made it funny. It only got mildly annoying in the last 10 minutes when they started to get excited thinking the unthinkable was possible. Gus and his “young Panthers” every 5 minutes, and going on how he’s seen them come back 20 times, then getting his ego stroked when they started to come back again. He’d have taken so much credit if Penrith had won. You can only imagine the rubbish he’d have been saying had we been watching Penrith celebrate at the end “I knew this day was going to come. These young Panthers always had it in them”. Instead, he must have left the box because he did not say a word. Karma got him last night as good as it got Ivan.

?Gould was talking more like a second in a boxing match with his charge outclassed. ? at times I was wondering what he was seeing? Panthers were down 16-0 but they were still winning ?

Gould was awful on commentary. Most biased commentary every. The scoreboard made it looks closer than it was, Penrith were awful and storm were all over them for a good 70 minutes.

***No, it just rubs it in our faces even more that we let him go!***

Didn’t really deserve it either I reckon, there were better players on the field tonight. Some of the storm forwards were excellent, but they always just give these awards to the flashy players not the ones who really win them the game. I can’t believe Smith has never won it!

And there you were last night calling Wests Tigers supporters bitter for wanting Cleary to lose. Turns out you’re just like the rest of us.

Your response makes no sense, it’s a totally different context. I’m sad we lost Papenhyuzen, not bitter. However, I didn’t think he deserved the medal last night not because I’m bitter about him going, but simply because I thought there were better players in his team, who did all the hard work and rarely get recognition for it.

Wow this is enjoyable to watch!

Glorious!

I can’t believe people can just instantly drop state allegiance and possibly even local area allegiance and barrack for the Victorian scum team full of Queenslanders!

I show Ivan Cleary the same allegiance he showed Wests Tigers, zero.
Loving every second of the purple rain.

If Cleary wasn’t their coach you’d be all for Penrith. One person doesn’t make the team, coach or not. The bitterness of Wests Tigers supporters is sad.

No it is not - it is called Karma and "Scumbag Cleary," Tick Tock boy and Mongrel Luai are all drapped in the colour of Karma - the colour is called black.

They were in the grand final after winning 17 games in a row, we missed the 8 yet again - there is no karma Russ, that ship sailed long ago.

How many WT'S players received a premiership ring ZERO how many PAMFERS players received a premiership ring ZERO .Pamfers had a very good year but got ZIP. Karma is a [This word has been automatically removed] but Penriffs problem will continue trying to keep these there young team together Ivan's subterfuge with the swapping of May and Naden backfired big time and who knows what effect it will have on the young Pamfers I'm sure Naden is pee'd off for the second week in a row I'm sure most WT'S supporters wish Penriff the best for the coming seasons with the same results.

Do not like to say people are incorrect Spud, but you are wrong saying there is no Karma.

Karma is not about where we finished, we all know why and how that was helped along by that dog Cleary and how he has already helped us struggle to try and get to the eight again next year.

Karma (is probably the wrong word) it is really about the "Wrong Doers" or the "LESS than honourable" people in the world getting their "comeuppance" (probably a better word and by definition: **A punishment or fate that someone deserves. "he got his comeuppance in the end").**

You can think there is no such thing but I know that the "Less than honourable" Pamfers coach, was contemplating sobbing into his pillow along with his arrogant and egotistical bunch of young wankers.......

I was looking at the TV blowing them all kisses ..... AND LOVING IT!!!!!!

Penrith were the form team all year mate, they deserved to be there and if they had have won the players would have been deserving of it.

I just couldn't stomach Ivan being a part of that after what he did to us.

Oh! yes ... they also thought they deserved to be there, by hook or by crook. Two words that do not go together are Pamfers and Humble.

They may have deserved to be there - they also deserved to be beaten. AND they were!

Penrith’s CEO is another twat. After Ivan blew us kisses, the CEO came out and very passive aggressively wished us all the best for the rest of the year, then did the same thing to Wighton after chin jr missed out on the Dally M. Now I would just like to take a moment to wish he and his club the best as they have to start all over again in pre-season.

I felt it was a pretty flat field for trying to pick best player. I agree with you that I think Paps was as good as but not better than any other Storm player. In a group of 3 watching the game we found it very hard to identify the real stand-out.

We guessed it would be Cam Smith because he scored a crucial try and basically controlled the whole game, including kicking. Paps wasn't asked to do much in defence but was solid with the kicks, though I don't think Penrith kicked very effectively. The CCM was probably mostly in recognition of Paps' solo try, though it was decisive, it wasn't the try that broke Penrith.

I personally thought Vunivalu was the best player on-field, because his early intercept really did break the Panthers and he did so much tough work with the ball, and in defence. Another candidate was NAS, although he left early-ish with a busted arm, he dominated the middle when the platform was under wrestle.

HOWEVER - last time a winger was recognised as CCM? Never. Same with centres, it's never happened. Only 3 props have received it.

The play where Paps jumped from the field of play and knocked the ball back in, he deserved it on that play alone.

What a player

Lol @ the salt from panthers fans on social media about refs. Not sure you have a leg to stand on being down 26-0 at one stage🧐

I thought Welch (spelling) was worthy of the CCM but happy for Paps to receive it as he was pretty flawless all game

Yeh I knew it wouldn't happen but Vunivalu was best on field. The intercept was a 12 point turnaround.

But hard to split Smith/Welch/Suli/Paps/Welch/NAS

Although, this was the scrappiest GF I've ever seen. The Smith and Bellamy blow up at 65 minute was indicative of that.

Nine errors and 60% completion rate in the first half, but nah the refs were the reason why they were down 22-0.

One of my mates was moaning about it, and I pointed that out to which he carried on about the penalty try and I said that by that logic, I can pin basically any loss this year that Wests had to the referees because there was bound to be a poor call or two in every game.

I know. I still used it as an example to show that the best sides will overcome that. Roosters were one of the most penalised sides in the NRL in 2018 I think it was, they still beat the refs whistle, backed their defence and won the premiership.
