For me the 3 biggest plays of the game were:

1.The refs call to rule 6 again to melb just before half time which they scored off.

2.Dwyers brain snap with the double movement.

3.Melb winning try was a no try.

Never seen a side so robbed in a Grand Final before.

1\. A charge down is classed as playing at the ball…6 again correct.

2\. Double movement didnt help but one incident does NOT cost a team a game....unless youre golden

3\. Melb winning try was a try, he touched the ball as it was on the ground....viewed in slo mo on IQ.

this has to be the worst year in league history for me.. we lose origin again… Parra beat us make the grand final because of it. we lose both the lower grade grand finals choking the under 20s in typical tigers style game. every single semi final wen the way I didnt want it to go.. shcoking year..

they did not choke …..christ............why post that......feel better.....

Remember it was from golden,my 5 month old son knows more about the game

what so I was NOT right in saying we wouldnt make the 8 and win the comp and you were right we were going to win the comp or make the 8??? dam I know nothing!

Seriously no video ref for finals matches is a joke and the club should request it for future seasons. Totally gutted that they lost on a dodgy decision like that.

WTF

Is it like that for first grade too?

Ridiculous.

He is talking about under 20's

2\. Double movement didnt help but one incident does NOT cost a team a game….unless youre golden

So your saying that in 1989 if Benny kicks the field goal Raiders still win it?

No way agree on the try.

And i open minded about the charge down because they didnt show a replay. At first glance it looked like the ball was kicked into the tigers player, not charged down, I understand the rule Innk, but it didnt look like a charge down at first, i need to see a replay. But no way was the last try a try.

Why would I say he got a hand on it?
Look at it in slo mo on IQ, yoy see the trajectory of the ball change its course as his hand touches it, just before it gets to ground.

We got beat…it happens

I didnt say he didnt get a hand on it. He did, but he didnt ground it. There is a difference. U said he touched it while it was on the ground, that means kack shit, he needs downward pressure, and there was none.

I initially thought as you did. You dont have replays as youve stated…I watched it back and forth 6 times in slo mo...but we'll agree to disagree.
No point arguing.

Fair enough. I did see the try a 3 times and nothing changed my mind, but i do have my Tigers jersey on and had a few beers

He's not saying that, but we didn't lose SOLEY because Benny missed that field goal, there were several other incidents that contributed to Balmain losing that game.

Proud of the boys today….came back strong after halftime.

Keep your heads up boys, great effort.

I'm wondering if Lui was 100%fit - he damaged his knee in the semis and then had it wrenched late in last weeks game (not sure if same leg) - he just didn't take on the line enough - content to pass or kick on most of his handles - but then stretched out to score.

Very pround of all the cubs…..what a fantastic season reaching the grand final......Well done

Player Rap

Mullaney.....Great game from the Hodgo clone....safe under the high ball and he copped plenty.....positionally good....Attack outstanding.....close to best on ground....

Sauvou....brought it back hard everytime....strong from dummy half
Wisbey.....found out defensively but had the disadvantage of paring with Lui....ran hard in attack ....only young
Clarke....oustanding defence....best defencive back.....ran hard in attack as well....
Jackson......mixed bag a few error but got to love the way he brings the ball back......struggled a little positionally.....would be a better centre...

Lui.....disappointing.....touches of class......but lazy in defence and put the team under pressure.....lot of work to do
Nicholls....captains knock...tried his guts out....did some great things....hope he goes to state cup next year

A Fafita......Best on field....tremendous in both attack and defence......First Grade for sure......
Corbey....nuggety display good in defense....got the forwards going in attack
Woods....strong up front from the young prop forward.....can't wait to see him again next year
Schirnack.....started strongly run the ball great.....bad miss for the Melbourne's first try....otherwise love his work
Dwyer ....strong game from Simon....will cop a bagging for the double movement....but those things happen.....he gets my 2 points behind Fafita....
Hyland.....defensive workrate amazing and ran the ball up the guts hard....

Florimo......solid.no mistake footy
Tikinau.....did he play
Curran......great impact off the bench scored a try in a Grand Final....hold on to this Erina jnr please Wests Tigers

Hard to argue with that assessment mate. A Fifita was excellent and Dwyer and Mullaney were also standouts. They'll have a very strong team next year while some of these boys will push on towards FG.

Dissapointing result but that Storm is very, very strong.

Plenty to like about some of the performances - Mullaney was great as with just about all of the forwards.

Dwyer certainly wouldn't look out place in first grade.

I thought Florimo was very good as well.

Remember as dissapointing as it is not to get the points a lot of guys in that team have gained some very valuable experience in teh second half of this year.

The pain of a grand final loss will also motivate them.

A great effort by the boys today.

Mullaney was outstanding. Id be happy if he's our fullback next yr.

Andrew Fifita was great to, came up with some big runs.

Lui was poor, very disappointed, I thought he couldve done more to help prevent their last try, came up with some poor kicks as well.

As far as that last try goes, I reckon it was the right call, to me the ball was on the ground and his hand brushed the top of it, try for me.

Im sure if it was us that scored everyone would say it was a try.

Pretty pissweak of Grant Jones leaving Tikinau on the bench for 80 minutes. This is after he gave him what, 6 minutes last week? Kid was playing in his first U/20s grand final and you don't even give him a run. Great stuff, thats right out of the Tim Sheens playbook.
