Great game of footy.
Both sides gave it everything.
Thoroughly enjoyed that.

Thoroughly enjoyed watching Storm lose. Luke Lewis was awesome. Feel happy for Heighno.
The Sharks deserved to win a premiership with blokes like ET, Rogers and Peachey. Not really with drug cheats like Gallen, blokes that oversaw the whole cheating disgrace like Flanagan, vermin like Fifita and wife beaters like Barba. Hard to feel much joy there TBH apart from Storm losing.

That doesnt surprise me….you never give credit where its due and take pleasure only in failure.
Storm were heroic and probably should have won but their defensive requirements burned them out. Cronk was very dissapointing. If he was on Melbourne wins.

Sharks may have got away with a strip but I think Storm got away with more dirty hits so balances out, yes the Storm got penalised for their whacks but the victim still suffers whereas after a strip there is no physical damage afterwards.

Please tell me my eyes didn't deceive me ??

Storm go to set a scrum on one mark pointed by one ref and then the head ref then resets it without stopping the clock

Couple of bad calls either way on crucial decisions , the goal line drop out awarded to the Sharks on the 35th minute should of been a 22 tap 7 tackle set

And Bromwich was stripped by Fifita around the 72nd minute

Better team probably won , but refs screw up again

Doesn't seem to be much…. I noticed the strip too.... Ref's are never perfect
If that's all there is then they had a good game

There was other stuff. Maloney was throwing forward passes to Wade Graham on the left edge all night and getting away with it. Unambiguously forward too, not "flat". Anyway the Storm had their chance to win it at the end and nobody stood up by taking the line on or putting a kick through. Sad to see drug cheats win, Flanagan should have been permanently erased from the game for his involvement in that scheme.

All Nielsen had to do was pass inside to an unmarked Cronk when he regathered that ball with a few minutes to go and it would've been Melbourne's GF, but that's footy.

he is back to his old form. Common denominator is quality coaches.

More like 8+ rep players around you.

Anyway, lovely seeing Melbourne storm lose. Good pressure on Cronk all night. Very little skill in them(coached out my Bellamy) very lucky to even be there anyway.

If only Tigers were that committed in defense though as opposed to our revolving door style.

Lucky they went to bed and will wake up hating him still.

Thats gold !

Well guys,I must congratulate both the Sharks and the Storm for an excellent game of rugby league…well done to the Sharkies on winning their first ever Trophy ...

Congratulations to the Western Bulldogs for their first win in 62 years....

Iam a person who can congratulate a sporting team on success,no matter what that sport is..its very hard to be the best after a long and arduous season....
Here in Australia we are blessed to have an abundance of athletes in varying sport..

Although I don't follow either the Western Bulldogs or the Sharkies ,Iam proud of the way they played their respective games...

If the footy god's smile in season 2017 , then warriors will play titans.
As they both have never won it.
Congrats to Cronulla, they have won their maiden premiership.
Enjoy the moment, and the experience.
No doubt there will be a drop in sale of light globes for portch lights now.

If that's all there is then they had a good game

My issue with the scrum is that is we have 20 passes a game that are forward go unnoticed , players never take penalties on the correct mark , how many times are players offside when goal line drop outs or the kicker is marginally over the line when he takes the kick , players offside from kick offs , players not back 10 metres in the ruck , players offside in kick chase ,players rarely play the ball on the correct spoy they were actually tackled and yet we have one ref point to a mark for a scrum and then the other ref tell the players to reset the scrum maybe three metres behind the original mark and then stop the clock

That's what I don't get …...

Why would they do that and why not stop the clock and then get the Storm to reset there scrum ??

Same with the call on the 35th minute , you can clearly see the Storm player knock the ball BACK in goal and the Sharks player then knocks the ball on and then its goes over the dead ball line

Bunker takes one look from arguably the worst possible angle and awards another goal drop out instead of a 22 metre tap with 7 tackles

Massive difference

Lastly the strip , 6 blokes were watching the game and we all called STRIP in unison with Bromwich , yet supposed the finest refs in the game miss it

Sorry I just don't buy it anymore , refs mistakes are becoming more conveniently helping certain sides week in week out , especially in tight games

I thought it was a great game, both sides belted each other for 90 minutes. The refs on the whole were good and the bad calls went both ways. In the end either side could have won the game and I suppose the Sharks were slightly the better side but gee I was impressed with Melbourne's grit in the first half.

Anyone who has a go a Taylor wanting to implement structures should take note last night game was all about players playing to a defined structure and doing their job. Defence and more defence won the game, not flashy flick passes, chip kicks,no look passes, it was about brutal defence.

One last thing Cameron Smith's speech at the end game was fabulous and showed great sportsmanship. I really did not think much of him other being a great no9,but I am now having a rethink

Ps two of my great mates have passed away in the past few years who were made Sharks fan, I hope the got to see the match from up above

When watching live I thought that the first try for Storm a Cronulla hand could still have been underneath the ball but on slomo it seems grounded. But when seen again on SBS news the ball does seem suspended by about half an inch.

:roll About as surprising as you following up with an almighty sook, fair dinkum champ at least you've got a whole offseason to get your eyes dry!
If Cronk is on Storm win you say….well he wasn't and they didn't. That is all that matters. Aunty/cods/Uncle I'm sure you know the saying. Storm weren't good enough.
Maybe if skipper Smitty didn't spill the pill in the 2nd half they might of held on. That moment in itself was like manna from heaven, absolutely brilliant it was, thoroughly enjoyed that.
The Sharks played well but the fact that their club was involved in drug cheating took a lot of the gloss off their win for me. Better team won on the night and rightly so.

Taking joy in others failure makes you a bitter loser man. Lighten up you god damned crybaby. Your hatred is pathetic.

How anyone can support the Sharks when their own PED's program probably led to the death of an innocent footballer is beyond me

Nothing bitter here sunshine, taking joy in watching a club with a very dodgy past lose a GF isn't a major crime I wouldn't have thought.
Best of luck getting over your lil hissy fit ASAP buddy, keep in mind that it's only a game. No need for hysterics
Up, up Cronulla :stuck_out_tongue:

Who was the footballer you are referring to? Never heard of anything to do with this.

Now Happy how do you dare bring up an inconvenient truth. I forgot that, in fact whole BB club did when backing them. But then again, most unfortunately there have been a number of deaths in the game the last few years, only a few weeks ago another. We should not be blaise about it of course.
