I like what Grant has been doing over the past months, but I'm not convinced this is an astute signing… It feels like we have taken the easy option again to appoint a CEO that the board knows, rather than recruiting a CEO who will challenge the Wests Tigers and its Board to lead us onto a new journey.

I suppose one of those costs money?!

#sheensforceo

You do realise that Mayer is challenging the club and giving it a good clean-up don't you? Why hire someone else when someone's already doing what you want within the club and wanted the job??

Easy option maybe, but maybe the real work was done in recruiting him a year ago with a possible plan for succession?!

just saying that wouldn't you rather Mayer as COO and we hire someone as good as him as CEO?

I'd like examples of players he's said we are chasing, players he's said we werent but ended up signing….nothing wrong with denying rumours, puts the crap to rest nice and quick.

He is terrific, hands on....he's no mug, too shrewd to put us at any disadvantage
Nothing wrong with what hes doing imo

If thats not all over him I don't know what is !

…and people accuse me of being negative and forever bagging the club

My opinion knuckle, have a look at the bloody context and stick to the topic....have you an opinion on the topic, or do you just wanna have a crack at me for showing some support?

Touchy touchy !
It's a public forum my friend …. Everyone's comments are fair game as far as I'm concerned.

Nice to see you admit to playing the man, not the topic.
Grow a set and put your own opinion out there…instead of having a crack at others

ink, do you want mayer to tell us who they are chasing or did i misinterpret that. pretty tired. dont think that'll happen

Not too good at being on the receiving end are you mate.
After all, you wouldn't have a crack at anyone would you. :unamused:

I quite like him killing off rumours that are off the mark.

I'm not bothered in knowing who we have targetted, Im happy to wait until everythings tied up in that regard…

Acknowledging our failings is a huge thing for me. Agree that our previous contract situation was a joke and promise it would be rectified going forward. Benjis contract is probably the first truly big thing Mayer has presided over, and I think it was handled as well as it could have been.

The rest of his actions has all been minor stuff, but its the transparency and apparent class with how we have moved forward is the most positive.

The handling of Benjis contract was nothing short of a debacle. **The clubs board and management of the day promised an upgrade and then reneged when the players form fell away.** The same board who signed Sheens to a 3 year contract then sacked him after one.
We may well have a good, decent and professional CEO with a lot of good ideas and improvements for the future. But it's the same board that Humphreys had to report to that Mayer has to report to. How he deals with that will be his biggest challenge of all.

They gave him an upgrade. At least admit that much as fact.

who's "they" ?

a CEO promised and then "resigned"… current admins acknowledged part of it and gave him an upgrade but not an extension. benji chose to leave- it's his fault.

Haha …. I have a number of analogies I could use but I wont bother.

They reneged .... And that's also a fact.

*sneeze*

Sorry, I'm allergic to BS.

I said Anologies not Allergies …. Maybe get your eyes checked while were at it :nerd:
