Think this new game of Rugba League will force him into retirement at the end of the year.

Yes I agree. Sadly for us though as it means they’ll want Grant back.

Cool we can sign Brandon Smith instead..

If Brandon is to be believed he has the 9 jersey promised to him next season.

Bellyache is probably simmering at that comment ......Momers should back Brandon up

If the game is changing to smaller, fitter, faster forwards, Brandon could be the best lock in the game. If the number of interchanges is reduced again Hookers that can also play lock or 2nd row could be a thing of the past.

Grant could always prefer it here as well after a year.....nothing to say the kid needs to re-sign with them

I think Grant has a contract for next year with Storm, as Momo does with Tigers. If the team and player agree, a contract can be terminated.

Had to laugh when Smith was about 10 m out from the Canberra line and Josh Hodgson wasn't square at marker. Smith jumped out of dummy half and stood still like a statue waiting for the penalty - he must of nearly choked when no penalty came his way.

fair enough....but we all know what nrl contracts are worth these days if you don't want to play somewhere

It wasn't that long ago that he was calling those sorts of penalties himself, telling the ref what to do and all that.

Grant has a get out clause if Smith re-signs, we could then sign him for as long as we like. Or we do a Parra and get players to break contracts

Early days but Grants passing, defence and support were all very good. Who knows what will happen before round 1 next year.

jake simpkon is a gun!! ive watched him up here for Wynnum Manly, with Walters, Liddle and Simpkin we are in good hands for the future

Recall reading Grant was on minimum salary($90k) on current Storm contract, which is why we had to wait a month or two until difference between he and Momo($280k or so) for remainder of this season cld fit under Storms cap in 2020
So Storm will have to upgrade him significantly to avoid him feeling totally screwed..but without Smiths $1mill this wont be too challenging
Bellamys also gotta buy 2 quality wingers to replace departing JAD and the big V,,and at least one quality .centre for next season.....maybe 2
He prefers to manufacture them, but don't think he has time for 2021
Will be interesting to see how Momo goes, who will almost certainly get a run next week.Bellamys type of player, who despite lack of pace will thrive under Melb system.
He may wanna stay...

Early days Grant has played one game albeit a good one i'd like to see how he goes over the course of the season. But if possible i think he would be a good keeper Grant and Walters together then Simpkin may be ready, i dont see Liddle in our long term plans even though i think he's a good player he just cant stay on the park the poor kid.

exactly i dont see a place for Liddle unless walters is the five eighth then Grant and Liddle combo could be useful and lethal. If we can keep Grant then we go with Liddle and maybe blood simpkin or Liddle and walters sharing hooker and look for a five eighth

next year
keep grant
slot mmbye to 5/8
bring Momo back in centres
walters on the bench
we need to move everything for Grant sign him at all costs

This 👌🏽
We need Grant.our forwards looked so good running off him

Have a feeling Smith WILL go round again if Storm do not go on to win the comp this year, which they most likely won't based on the rule changes and the way the Raiders smashed them in Melbourne last game. His ego won't let him go out on a losing note if he can avoid it-ergo one more shot in '21! And if he does, Harry can bail out as I understand his current deal.

I really liked Grant, I think he's the player we've been sorely needing to become a threat. I don't think Storm will let him go though, even if Smith goes around again.

There has been mention that a second year loan could occur if Smith goes around again. Remember Storm wouldn't let JAC out of his contract straight away, buying themselves another year, despite all the mail saying he wanted out immediately.

And this is the first time a loan has occurred, if it doesn't go well and it's messy at the end with players not wanting to return to their old club, the NRL may not allow such loans in the future (or clubs may be hesitant to enter them).

I'm not worried though, Grant is great for this team, but we have Liddle and/or Simpkins who could possibly do that job also next year.
