Agree TIGER, defending in the centres is 95% positioning and decision making (when to come in, when to stay wide).

5\. Brown
6\. Marshall

Agree guys i would like to see ellis and gibbs have another week off with their injuries and to make sure they are 100% fit and fresh and as to give bmm more time in first grade.

Since Lawrence and Daniella were both injured there has been a lot of calls for us to play a back rower in the centres for defence.
As many have pointed out here, that would be a bad move! It is not only a different type of defending, it is a position which also requires speed and if you don't have it you are at a disadvantage.
Even if these back rowers played centre in their earlier years it would be a mistake to select them at centre now. Leave them in the position they have settled in and select a back in centre!

Thank you every one for your comments. I think I will sack myself as coach before Bug starts a forum. (lol)

My reason for Fulton or Dwyer to play centre was to defend against Inglis and Taylor. Inglis always plays his best football around rep time.

Daniella did an excellent job last time we played but I was worried about Moltzen's defence.

Aysford is a strong defender but missed six tackles against the Broncos and Hodges made he look ordinary. (Hodges is a gun player when uninjured).

Hope Ashyford and Utai combination is not broken up.

Happy to stick with Moltzen in the centres. Brown may need to come in and assist him.

Now we have troups back will Sheens begin to rest or put in State Cup Fifita, Woods and Dwyer on rotation? All have done an excellent job this year especially Dwyer now playing more minutes.

Can't wait until Ellis is 100% and back to full fitness. Gun player.

If Moltzen is playing well in the centres and we are winning will Sheens rush Lawrence back into the team or play him as a back on the bench?

Im curious to see who gets punted when Tuqiri is back in a couple of weeks….do you move brown to centre or state cup? Moltzten gone to state cup or bench #14 or beau knows State cup or #14 in those cumfy bench seats!!!

Good post Adam I would think Beau know NSW cup ,Moltzen at 14 , and either Brown or Utai at wing That's a tough call

He was playing on the wrong side against the Broncos, thats to be expected.

Beau Ryan and Mitch Brown to State Cup and Moltzen to bench as he does cover a number of positions once Lote is back. Utai has done enough to retain his spot.

The forwards, when everyone available is going to throw up some interesting choices.
Sheens likes to stay loyal so Woods and Fifita might have to go back to Under 20's.

Looking forward to seeing WT at full strength on the run home to the finals.

Maybe the injuries will come as a blessing in disguise with players like Lawrence and Ellis having a break on the sidelines instead of playing a full tough season.

If all my forwards are fit, I would start a rotation thing going. I would be resting a forward or two a week to keep them fresh and keen.

problem is utai doesn't contest the high ball.
brown does - and very well too.

personally from a defensive perspective, brown is the #1 choice imo.
from an attacking perspective, utai for sure.

gonna be a tough one.

The end of season big games I think I would lean towards Brown as when our defence continues to improve every team will be trying to get at Utais wing with high balls . If only Utai was 6 inches taller

Utai won't be dropped unless his form drops. As it currently stands he averages more metres in attack than any other Tigers player.

Nor should Utai be dropped. Moltzen and Ryan should go to state cup. Brown to #14 as Wade Mac is the most likely to break down during a game.

Aysh directly defended on Inglis & Taylor's side for 68 minutes of that game!!!!!!!!!!

Yet when he moved to the forwards to enable Moltz a run w/ Daniela shifting to our left side - Geoff's two quality tackles on Inglis are all anyone seems to remember!! But Blake owned him for +3/4s of the game!!!

Thank you redemption for clarifying the above.

With injuries to Burgess, Douglas and Big Roy and Sandow moving on to Parramatta (ie he doesn't have to perform now his future is secure) I feel confident we can beat the Bunnies for the second time this year.
Taylor and Inglis could be the dangers.

Interesting Beau Ryan playing State Cup this week. Is it for match fitness or has he been dropped now players are coming back to the NRL side.

I hate the back on the bench getting 10 minutes a game policy. With Sheens for another 3 years I will just have to get use to it.

BMM should also get a run in State Cup to assist with match fitness. He adds much size to our bench.

I like the idea of rotating our forward pack to give them match fitness plus freshen them up for a long season. Competition for NRL spots can only bring out the best in each player.
