There’ll be a new whipping boy soon enough.

Or, heaven forbid, the new bloke might actually be competent and do the job properly?
That'd be ok.

Only one team can win the comp so there will always be 15 other supporter bases complaining it's not fair.

I don't think so. Realistic people can generally accept the fact that a handful of clubs have no chance of winning a premiership (like WT) this season due to a poor playing roster competing against clubs loaded with superstars. Some clubs have got the money (both legit and under-the-table) and some get by with sub-standard rosters.
People won't cop administration dealing out double-standards between clubs however. Nor they should.
Hopefully the double-standards issue is rectified in the years ahead or else we will just have an EPL-like comp where the same 4 teams are the only genuine chances of winning the title every year. If it gets to that stage I'll walk away from RL, there's no interest in a lopsided comp like that.

New CEO has to work out a way of wrestling control from clubs. This will be assisted by strong leadership by Vlandy's. If they are making a decision for the good of the game....this can't be changed by a call from a powerful club boss to the V'Landy's and i'm sure it wont. This game is crying out for pragmatic, strong leadership....plenty of low hanging fruit to be had.

We got a pizzling from Todd over the robbie situation because they had beef with marina go who was calling out their ineptitue

Peter V’landys is doing the exact opposite of wrestling control away from clubs. Apparently clubs will still be payed 13 million each next year (same as this year) even if the salary cap gets reduced. That’s doing what the clubs want not taking power away from them

Unfortunately mate every footy fan thinks their club has it rough. Every fan base is full of people thinking the NRL doesn’t want them to win, it’ll always be that way no matter who the CEO is.

Footy fans are stupid, Souths fans think they get targeted even though Todd wrote a reference for GI. Storm fans complain about getting hard done by even when Smiths wife gets diamond earrings. It’ll always be that way especially because the media love creating drama

Roosters fans wouldn't have anything to complain about either. Their club gets the red carpet treatment. Same could be said for the Broncos.
Hopefully the new CEO finds a way to eliminate perceived bias towards certain clubs. That's how he/she would earn a massive amount of respect and support from the average RL fan.

I’ve seen Souths fans whinge about burgess getting suspended all the time and that it’s because the NRL hates him. It’s dumb and makes no sense but that’s what they think. Roosters think the same about JWH. Broncos the same about TPJ. People love making excuses and blaming the NRL because it’s the easiest thing to do and the media pushes it

It’s near impossible to eliminate perceived bias towards clubs. Footy fans are too stupid. People still think refs are out to get their teams on purpose etc. it’s a problem that will always exist

Many people believe that the "favoured" clubs are Souffs Rorters Donkeys and Storm and have been for about 6-7 years which is even before Greenberg took over.Greenberg added to that belief by some bewildering decisions. It is going to take a long time for that perception to change, all anyone wants is for clubs and players to be treated equally

Yes, equally but differently. Because it’s in the interest of the nrl to promote rivalry between clubs.

People believe any club that’s going well is favoured. If Gold Coast started winning games every week people would start saying it’s because the NRL wants them to win.

Undoubtedly some people would believe that is the case, however it is when decisions off the field by someone like Greenberg affects a club in a positive or negative manner reinforce those perceptions.Greenberg made some terrible decisions which reinforced opinions of him being biased. Many people have highlighted some of those decisions to you.

Personally I wouldn't mind the Tigers being hard done by....

As long as it is the same as the Donkeys, Rorters, Souffs and Storm.

I'd be ok with that.

Yeah and I’m not disagreeing with the fact that Greenberg did those things - but thinking that a different CEO would be able to make footy fans stop thinking there’s bias and that their club is targeted is a pipe dream. Footy fans love to complain and blame everyone else for their clubs failings a lot of the time and successful clubs will always be viewed as being favoured by the NRL

Greenberg made little or no attempt to disguise the fact that he treated clubs differently which is why he said "fairness not equality" when making decisions. All supporters want is consistency in decisions

IMO it's got nothing to do with teams 'going well'. Some teams have great rosters and others barely reserve-grade standard.
It's the absolutely bewildering decisions handed down by NRL HQ (including the judiciary) towards certain clubs that have fans screaming foul.

Souths fans whinging about Burgess repeatedly getting suspended? Gee whiz, look at his rap sheet of offences during his time in the NRL- he should have spent triple the amount of time on the sidelines than he did. Not to mention his 'work' off-field with that lady over the internet. That went completely unpunished.
Roosters complaining about JWH getting repeatedly suspended? He is in the same boat as Burgess, repeat offender who without a doubt has been extremely "lucky" at the judiciary. The incident with him and Liam Knight last year being a glaring example.
TPJ is just a thug who constantly and cowardly attacks blokes' heads (mostly when they are down and defenceless), he will see plenty more time on the sidelines if he continues his ways. Nothing to complain about there for Donkeys fans.

Yes, but, there is no way the NRL has been fair and impartial in their dealings with clubs in recent years. I don't like the victim mentality, can't stand it personally. Fairness IS being treated equally, which the Todd never understood (which I base of interpreting his own words).

Any examples of reasons why Roosters, Souths, Broncos or Storm would feel victimised? We can go through the validity of their claims.👍
