Greg Bird *Discussion*

The guy we should be going after to give us experience is Sam Thaiday… He would bring Energy; Quick PTB; Grub Element and allow us to use him in rotation with Taupau, maintaining the energy we lose when he goes off. Both could play tight or on an edge if needed.

Sign him up Mayer!

Yep couldn't agree more, Watto! I'd love to have Sam here - would take him over Bird any day and while they're at it, they can sign up Alex Glenn as well.

Dreamer, I'm nothing but a dreamer…..

Yeah to not have a shot at either may well be the crime of the century.

Does the club have a 'No Dickheads' policy in place?, let him go to Manly with those other wankers!.

I've always had a good laugh at the 'no dickhead policy' sentiment… I have always assumed it was a policy created by the fans.

I'd hope the club has a Buy the Best Players Policy!

You know it's funny, I don't like the guy, but people don't want him because he's a grub, not because he can't play footy.

As if the cleanskins we have on deck are tearing up the comp.

I understand the "no DH" idea, but guys like Thaiday, Bird, Myles, Watmough, Hodges get picked in rep sides for a reason.

100% agree

As to Bird, it's a joke anyone would even want him close to our side.

We need experience and ones who know what it takes to be successful, Bird doesn't come close on or off the park that meets that requirement.

Gets away with yet another criminal act, this time using code in his text messages during the Titan's Cocaine Scandal. I know it's not a nice thing to say, but I really hope this mug's past catches up with him one day - I'm so bloody sick of seeing him front up to court, only to get off on some ridiculous loophole _every single time_ and act so damn smug when he does, as well.

Birdy now wants to be the GC captain…. he would set an awesome example for other blokes of questionable mental capacity to follow. What about Ashley Harrison?, he should of been given 20 years to life for wearing that horrendous tie to his hearing, must've dug it up out of his old mans cupboard

Bird is a germ of the highest order. The only player I would take pleasure in watching suffer a serious injury on the field, only for the damage he's inflicted on those around him.

Hahaha :roll

NRL: Bird faces axe at Titans after altercation
By AAP

Blues hard man Greg Bird will be at the centre of an NRL investigation after an incident outside a pub in northern NSW. The NRL career of Gold Coast star Greg Bird is under a cloud after revelations he is being investigated over an alleged drunken incident at a Brunswick Heads pub.

The Nine Network reported on Tuesday evening that Bird was refused entry at Hotel Brunswick last weekend and had an altercation with security staff. The Titans have confirmed the governing body has begun looking into the incident, which is believed to have occurred during Titans winger Anthony Don's bucks party.

"The club is aware of an investigation currently underway by the NRL integrity unit regarding an alleged incident at a hotel in northern NSW last weekend," the Titans said in a statement.
"At this stage, those investigations are yet to be completed so the club is not in a position to comment further until the outcome has been determined."

The NRL said the Titans would decide on a course of action for their player. "Integrity unit investigators will prepare a report on the incident and provide it to the Gold Coast Titans, who will determine what, if any, actions is required," a NRL spokesperson told AAP.

The latest drama could be another strike on a long list of off-field indiscretions involving Bird, which includes being stripped of the Titans' captaincy in 2014 for urinating beside an unmarked police car.
He was also one of seven Gold Coast players charged with, but later acquitted of, possession and supply of cocaine early in 2015.

Bird, 31, is contracted to the Titans until the end of 2017 however has been linked with moves in the off-season to Newcastle and Manly.
