Greg Eastwood

Apparently he has been told by the Dogs that he is not being resigned fow next year.

Do you guys think that we should make a play at him. I think he is awesom and would really bolster our forward pack.

Just interested in your thoughts guys.

I think you're mistaken

Never trust anyone with 3 1st names…

On Eastwood however it's a yes from me...Eastwood has size aggression and a good motor for a big fella...very good defender and has decent skill with the ball in hand...

I was hoping he was going to get squeezed out by upgrades to Klemmer and Mbye but I guess I forgot how much Tony Williams would have been signed for when he went to the Doggies. He'll free up enough for them to keep Eastwood and upgrade some of the others. Shame, he's a good player that the Dogs under-utilise.

Near impossible for him to come here, attracting a lot of clubs including the Dragons, Warriors and Penrith.

He's one of the best front on defenders and would help a lot to our side but doubt he'll choose us over doggies and the other clubs involved if we're interested.

Good player but pass, for the money he'll be asking we can do better

Good player and all, but we have a very good 13 in Taylor, and I'd rather spend our $$ on edge forwards.

He plays anywhere in the forward pack, the Dogs have used him on an edge pretty effectively a few times that I've noticed (including against us a couple of weeks ago).

He'd be a handy addition to any pack, let alone ours! He'd be a star here but can't see it happening.

Nope. I personally think Eastwood's form and fitness are dropping off as each season goes bye, I think his best form is well behind him.

He'll be 30 at start of season 2017, so maybe not that expensive. I'f we could get him without paying overs i'd say yes.

He's a good impact player and we don't have a lot (any?) of those at the moment. No offence to him but nobody is shaking in their boots when Kyle Lovett comes on…

It doesn't matter too much where you play him - prop, lock or second row depending on the situation. It's all a moot point anyway given the Dogs will lock him up but we do need to diversify our pack a bit and he'd be a good fit. He's got good impact but he isn't a loose in his play or periodically lazy like so many others that perform similar roles.

He doesn't seem to play big minutes , I wonder if that's a fitness issue or just he is less preferred over the other Dogs props

Whilst true, he's not a specialist edge player and doesn't play long minutes (there or elsewhere), and will only go backwards in that sense given his age.
Given the opportunity, I'd rather throw $$ at a genuine above average FG edge player to play long mins.

Wouldn't touch him , goes missing when it matters . Was good about 4-5 years ago now his just going through the motions .

I would much rather the Club spend the money on a 50-100 game NRL player that we are more than likely see him play at his Peak 23-26 year old Forward , someone like a Tyson Frizell…it would come with the price but Eastwood is not far from Retirement , Bulldogs don't let anyone go that has still has it within them where as we as a Club keep purchasing the scraps.
