Greg Inglis

Heard Keary on the news saying GI got stuck into him during the game for not taking a shot when GI demanded it, at the 65 minute mark or so.

Would not surprise me if he promised someone a 1 point loss lol

Didn't that fat guy from the waratahs do something similar?

Matt Dunning.

Warratahs needed a bonus point win (four tries) to stay alive.
They earned a penalty around 40m out and needed to make use of it immediately rather than use an advantage.
Dunning thought he'd get rid of it ASAP so they could kick for a line-out.
First thing that came to his head was have a crack at the droppie, he's a prop, probably gonna miss.
Nails the kick and slots it.

To be fair the kick was f**king beauty.

Greg Inglis announces NRL retirement
By WWOS staff

An emotional South Sydney star Greg Inglis has retired from the NRL age 32, with the Maroons legend saying the time is right to call it quits while denying speculation his retirement is linked to mental health or injury issues.

Inglis said he told teammates about his plans to hang up the boots on Saturday after their win over the Warriors on the Sunshine Coast. He made the call after heading home and speaking to family about the decision to retire from the game that made a him a household name within Australia's sporting landscape.

Inglis says he'll do his best to enjoy his life and the four race horses he owns while still serving the club in a role off the field.

The NRL champion said he was proud of what he had achieved on the field and felt like his mission off it had just begun.

"No-one else has called it but myself," Inglis said in a teary press conference.

"There has been a lot of speculation but as of today it’s official. There are no regrets.

"My teammates are here. They didn’t have to come today but that shows the care of the club.

"This club has given me everything, every opportunity. And my former club Melbourne Storm gave me my opportunity."

The Rabbitohs premiership winner said his retirement from the game wasn't down to injuries because he had pushed through injuries in the past and if need be he could go down that road. But the dual premiership winner said he couldn't offer.

"It’s not due to mental health or injuries, I just think it’s the right time for me. I’ve been contemplating it for a while now and I’ve come to terms with it.

"My dad was a legend to me and he still is and unbeknown to me he jumped on a train and turned up here this morning to be with me. I didn’t think it was real so I punched him in the chest and he cried.

"That’s me calling time on my career. No one else has called it. I’m happy with my decision. I get to work with the club and stay around Redfern and work with the boys and the community.

Souths general manager Shane Richardson said it wasn't a sad day for the club because Inglis won't be lost to the game or Redfern.

An ambassador role awaits him at souffs, undoubtedly it is all fair and legitimate as far as the NRL are concerned

One of the most devastating runners the game has ever seen.
Fast, dynamic running style with an incredible fend. He could turn a game instantly.
In his prime he was arguably the most exciting player in the world, and his prime lasted quite a few years.

See ya GI. A modern freak, one of the greatest centres ever.

So this is going to start another NRL scam you watch

You sign players up for 5 seasons knowing that they will probably get 3-4 good seasons and then retire them and approach the NRL for salary cap help

Yet the players like a David Gower for example who aren't game superstars won't get the same treatment ….

I'm sorry but if players retire mid contract too bad you wear it , too bad so sad

Inglis might have just screwed any chance Souffs had of medically retiring him with his comments here. He said himself it’s not due to mental health or injuries. I hope the NRL has taken note.

If the grubbitohs get salary cap relief by moving him into an ambassadorial role that doesn’t get included in the cap that will do me.

If i were WT I'd be looking very closely at this. The circumstances are different but end result same. I note Inglis says he's retiring not due to physical or mental injury and NRL are glad he will be an ambassador. I note that the NRL never said anything positive about Farah becoming an ambassador should it happen. I suspect we were going to get screwed one way or the other. Next cab off the rank now is Darius Boyd and Paul Gallen.

All good because Souths have spoken to the NRL beforehand. Remember the NRL hit us hard because we didn’t talk to them about Farah prior. Ergo, from their perspective, we were cheating the cap.

If Marina Go were still with us she would be livid with this GI stuff. From all reports she wanted to fight the NRL over our penalties.
