I have it on good authority that Grifffin was all but over the line as head coach. They flew him down to Sydney ready to give him the job as a safe, experienced option to guide a young roster. However once they flew him down for the interview they found him um and arring his way through. Apparently had none no back ground on the club, no real knowledge of the roster, or no concrete plans for the future of the club.

Potter was apparently much the same. Mayer actually recommended keeping Potter however in his interview he was very dull, um and arring his way through. The new board which had come in were underwhelmed by both candidates vision and ability to inspire the room.

Then Taylor came in and blitzed it. He had done a huge amount of background on the club and its injury history, its current rosters, its strengths and weaknesses, his plans for the future. The board were so impressed the decision was practically made immediately to offer him the job given how impressive he was compared to Griffin and Potter.

Take it with a grain of salt. I mean without any info you could have concluded that Taylor obviously impressed compared to the others. However it was encouraging to here just how impressive he was that he was a clear stand out and not a border line decision to give the gig to.

Taylor probably was not my first choice originally however this really heartened me that we might have not a very smart operator. Obviously man management is what comes into play over the course of a season and there have been questions marks int he past for Taylor in this regard. Your only as good as the cattle you have though so he still could be in for a bumpy ride.

I wonder what decision the board would have made if they interviewed Wayne Bennett? The master of the um & ah. Doesn't say much on anything really.

Guess we would have still got JT as coach as he did research on us.

I have always said that JT's plan wont be a quick fix. JT says we should start seeing results in 2016 and 2017\. I disagree. I think we'll start seeing results in 2017\. I think JT and Mossy need more than one full season to fix the mess that were handed to them. I think we need to build a team around the following players….

Teddy
Nofo
Simona
Moses
Brookes
Tapau
Sironen
Woods
Lodge
Robbie
Cherrington

The rest just need to go. A lot of people will howl this down but as fans, we need to get fairdinkum and not worry about keeping our favorites in the team because they've played one or two good games. We really need to start rebuilding this side and the first place we need to start is the forwards. Once we have a big imposing pack, Brookes and Moses' talent will shine through.

Mostly agree with you.
However, I am not sure that Robbie will be around much longer and I am not sold on Sironen.

YEp I agree as well.but hard decisions have to be made and Robbie unfortunately is taking to much of the cap up and he might have to move on IMO.
But I agree with you Col I rekon Robbie might hang the boots up or go to ESL after 2016.

As much as I hate to admit it because I love this bloke as player so much I named my son after him but I think Robbie Farah has to go once his contract is up. In fact, I think our current playing roster needs a huge broom through it so once Mossy has fixed our salary cup issues, JT can start buying players that he believes we need.

Since 2005 we've relied on our attack to win us games and ever since Benji started dogging it in 2012, our attack has slowly started to fall away. In all honesty, our attack has been pretty ordinary since 2013 and when I hear commentators talk about our attacking flair to hype us up during our games, I cringe because I havent seen it since 2012.

We fluked one premiership in 2005 and havent done anything since then. We've relied on our attack and we havent achieved anything since 2005\. JT is 100% correct in changing our playing style and our culture. I believe once he has the right forwards, everything will fall into place. This transformation wont happen overnight and we'll have to endure more games like the Cowboys, Knights and Roosters but we just have to remain patient and accept these changes.

That's pretty much what I thought about our attacking options on Saturday.

We had attacking options? Well to be fair if Kevie Naqaima grounds that kick things might have been different.
