Griffin had the job

Anyone who watched Taylor's presentation to the members todays would have seen exactly why he wooed the board and Mayer.

* Attention to detail
* Cutting Edge
* Common sense
* Very incisive

He was impressive with his overall coaching strategy in terms of defensive priority and structure, wrestling and the use of the bench. Said he watched every single try the WT have conceded over the past few seasons.

He was just as impressive in terms of the training and conditioning aspect of the club. This is where we have been light years behind other clubs.

He might not have the players to back up the plan this year. However with Moss trying to fix the "mess" of a salary cap (Taylors words) 2016 and 2017 look really bright.

Ill be more confiedent once we have played a couple of months of football however we seem to have got ourselves a very smart operator.

Thats the unknown with taylor. How will he react to a 5 match losing streak. Will he throw the toys out and start pointing the finger. Don't get me wrong the best coaches around are known for their raging intensity and fire. However there players still love them and want to play for them. Taylor appeared an angry ant at Souths that the players did not respect in the end. Im sure he has matured since then but the WT and all that goes with the club will certainly test him his make up.

Let's hope the 5 match losing streak is a thing of the past 😛ray:

The only thing that concerned me was he seemed bullish to the point of cocky ness with his defensive system. it all sounded great. However he bit at a couple of people in the crowd for shaking their head at a couple of his answers. I just hope he has the man management to handle set backs because by his presentation he sees to be in the top coaches in terms of work ethic, iq, tactics, technology and cutting edge training

all I can say is GO :sign: … (wipes a shed of tear)... I believe in Taylor and he can get the best out of the players... TOP 8 here we come!!!

Not looking good mama,could be a lot longer streak than 5 the way things are going…but hopefully the kids will learn and our pain will ease albeit it will take a while and a lot of Panadol.... :slight_smile:

A power point presentation unfortunately isnt a football field.

Griffin had the Bronks playing a very conservative game plan last year that was similar to "Taylorball" so I am not sure he would have been any better.

Taylor deserve a chance hire and flick a few players before we noose him up, lets face it his current roster is bog average

Well we've allegedly signed some players, so let's see where it goes. Hopefully we make couple of decent mid year transfers.

If people are going to quote Eddie, quote this one.

He points to the issue we are having right now and Taylor's cockiness, stubbornness and over reliance on this defensive structure.

Almost sound OCD the way Taylor is so regimented.

Sad but true TT. You made the trip to Campbelltown to watch our boys play. I can only guess what the atmosphere and mood was like at the game. Our spine were abysmal. Shame they didn't put in a better perfomance on such a special occasion. :frowning:

What I said was he talked a really good game. Has he been able to back it up? Well in regards to injuries and defence yes to an extent. I probably did not bank on the ultra conservative football and that has been a surprise.

Now having seen a couple of months of football I am slightly concerned with where he is heading. Although never have i called for his head or anything. Want to see him with an off season under his belt. He has a lot of dead wood to clear out before we can have a real good look at his true ability as a coach.

I think this is another key message. Not defending JT's tactics thus far, but we need to clean up the paid deadwood still plaguing the books. I'll reserve judgement until the end of 2016.

Until then, its WT BAU…

That's correct. I would be very happy if we finished 9th. We could build on that for 2016\. There are bright things on there way.

I have always said that JT's plan wont be a quick fix. JT says we should start seeing results in 2016 and 2017\. I disagree. I think we'll start seeing results in 2017\. I think JT and Mossy need more than one full season to fix the mess that were handed to them. I think we need to build a team around the following players….

Teddy
Nofo
Simona
Moses
Brookes
Tapau
Sironen
Woods
Lodge
Robbie
Cherrington

The rest just need to go. A lot of people will howl this down but as fans, we need to get fairdinkum and not worry about keeping our favorites in the team because they've played one or two good games. We really need to start rebuilding this side and the first place we need to start is the forwards. Once we have a big imposing pack, Brookes and Moses' talent will shine through.

Mostly agree with you.
However, I am not sure that Robbie will be around much longer and I am not sold on Sironen.

Obviously Robbie wont be around much longer but he's gotta be in the team. Sironen will do better once he has more mongrel around him to teach him how to be an aggressive second rower in the NRL. The forward pack we have aren't aggressive enough for him to follow suit.

Who are we replacing them with…?

Last I looked the Mongrel tree was bare
