Guaranteed 2nd Week In the Finals

I think the Dragons/Sea Eagles game is a forgone conclusion, but with the other 2 games here's the possible outcomes

Tigers/Panthers win
week 2 games, home team first (week 3 opponent in brackets)
Tigers vs Warriors (Panthers)
Titans vs Roosters (Dragons)
GONE: Manly, Canberra

Tigers/Raiders win
week 2 games, home team first (week 3 opponent in brackets)
Raiders vs Warriors (Dragons)
Titans vs Panthers (Tigers)
GONE: Manly, Roosters

Roosters/Panthers win
week 2 games, home team first (week 3 opponent in brackets)
Titans vs Tigers (Panthers)
Roosters vs Warriors (Dragons)
GONE: Manly, Canberra

Roosters/Raiders win
week 2 games, home team first (week 3 opponent in brackets)
Raiders vs Tigers (Dragons)
Roosters vs Panthers (Titans)
GONE: Manly, NZ

IMO best case scernario is us and penrith winning, worst case scernario is Roosters and Canberra winning (all of this is going by the assumption Manly will lose).

Um… if all the teams below us lost... Warriors ... the Titans.. what ?

If Manly Canberra and Roosters win we are out !

My ladder predictor says if we Win we Win.

Fun Fact: Never in the history of the NRL has 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th all won in Week 1, there is always an "upset".

Another fun fact, in the 11 seasons of the McIntyre system, 6 has a winning record against 3 (6 has won 6 games, 3 has won 5).

LOL, awesome thread.

Tonight's result actually had no bearing whatsoever on whether me made it or not, as both the teams are ranked lower than us. One was bound to lose, so really, it didn't matter if it was the Titans or the Warriors.

After much debate with a few other loyal fans there was an outside chance that we could have been knocked out in spite of where we finished on the ladder, all it would have taken was for Manly to have beaten the Steelers and all the teams below us to have lost, thus us, the Tigers and the Titans would have bitten the bullett, Warriors saved us for another week.
My tipping has been pretty good this year and I tipped the Warriors to win, I was Very Very Wrong :deadhorse:

Do you understand the Mcintyre system at all? tonights match had no bearing on the tigers because both teams are below tigers on the ladder. and if all the teams below us lost then that would allow tigers to play in the second week even if they lost. :brick:

 I think the natives are getting restless…..

Leroy knows the deal....or he should by now...

FIRE UP WESTS TIGERS

yeah we'd get a week off….don't know if that would work out best or not, might lose some momentum.

Hi everyone

This whole thread is doing my head in!! (Love that saying…)

However, although I will be following the scores at the games, I am not going to think about next week until the 6pm news on Sunday night tells me what will happen.

GO TIGERS!!!!

Tigergran

Unfortuanately Leroy the tiger fan has no idea what he's talking about. sounds like his mates have the same IQ

according to the footy last night the bottom 2 ranked losing teams bow out each week

so if 8,7,6 and 5 win 3&4 bow out

Last night had no bearing on us what so ever, as a few have pointed out.

If we beat the chooks, we want either saints or penrith to lose so we go through to the 3rd week.
If we lose to the chooks, we want either saints or penrith to win to save our arses.

Instead of thinking about what will happen with other teams, how about we focus on our team and keep our own future in our hands.

That happens
Week 2
Manly vs Penrith (SFS)
Canberra vs St George (Canberra)

week 3
Gold Coast vs Canberra/St George (Suncorp)
Tigers vs Manly/Penrith (SFS)

OK…dont drop the ball and NO missed tackles...got it?

lol @ the original post, that match was the least of our concerns, it didn't matter who won it as they were both below us on the table, did you expect them both to automatically qualify for week 2 or something if Warriors won?

If we lose we have to become Panthers or Dragqueens fans for the weekend.

Also, Manly arent as bad off as everybody is thinking imo, the "14 players out" tripe is ridiculous, look at the team they named, its damn not bad (although Foran won't play), Put the Stewart brothers, Wolfman & Foran back into that side and its damn near full strength, and we all KNOW how badly St George choke.

its amazing how this pathetic Mcintyer system is. if we win we will be cheering Manly if we lose we will be cheering the chokers.. I hate this system get rid of it!!

Well my worst fears have a chance of happening, the Rorters just beat us, Canberra are very competiitve against the Panthers, for the first time in my life I will be hoping that Illawarra win a game that matters.
Yes the McIntyre system is a joke as most of the responses state and in one of my posts last night I made a mistake with the wording but I'm a mere mortal with a reasonable amount of intelligence, as for the people I work with?.
