Had Ivan Cleary not been brought in..

To be fair I don't think you could credit Ivan for all of this. I reckon there has been a lot of preparation by the likes of Kelly Egan etc.

Doesn't say too much on him but good read nonetheless. http://i.stuff.co.nz/sunday-star-times/features/profiles/637258/Warriors-coach-Ivan-Cleary-who-is-he-really

I don't want to have a dig at JT, but I doubt he has anywhere near the pulling power that Cleary does. Matulino has already referenced it directly (http://www.nzherald.co.nz/sport/news/article.cfm?c_id=4&objectid=11845013), and I doubt he'll be the only one.

So no one else is against reynolds getting paid 900k and a car? He aint worth that much. What happen with TMM?

700k mate, don't believe everything you read.

Nor should you Milky the fact is none of us know what any of our players earn from media sources

Imagine where we'd be if we appointed Payten. The fact we had the brains to go with Cleary gives me confidence. It was a simple choice, but one we would have messed up in the past under old management. They definitely would have favoured bringing one of the boys back.

100% Lards. Im a big Cleary fan and was excited when he came on.

But if anyone thinks things werent being aligned behind the scenes before he got here, then youre asleep. I think the unfairly maligned board and CEO as well as some other crucial staff were aligning things and setting up processes for the day a new coach arrived. Cleary would have been very aware and was head hunted for the very reason we are seeing things occur now. He was the final piece in the shake up and has the kahunas to stand up and make the calls and take responsibiloty.

The pressure will be on Ivan next season as he will have the sqaud he wants.

Its a very interesting time, brilliant to have a single bus driver that has a nice new bus he is driving out of the lot.

Let's get real here, I have very little doubt that Cleary has been in conversation regarding recruitment long before his "official" appointment. Similarly with our signings, where there is smoke…...............

Not from a media source, the contract is in this 600k's and moves to 700k's in the final year.

Who is mwz

Edit; never mind just saw the other thread malakia watene zalenkiaz

Tell me about it, I am over the lazy hyphenated names people put on the net of gen Z texting

Thinking the same thing BlackandGold, unless the player is well known (ie. SBW) we have no idea who anyone is talking about.

I think it's a little unfair to speculate what Taylor or any coach would have done with $4m spending money for next season.

Don't get me wrong, I am happy that Ivan is here and what he has done so far. I'm just saying that Ivan is in a position that no coach has been in for a long time, that is, having some cash to build the team they want.

This. 100x this.

It would have been boys club all over again.

Farah would have been back along with Benji for a swansong.

Nope, nope, nope. The allowances for Cleary to be fully autonomous is already starting to rub off on the club.

Absolutely. Or if JT wasn't sacked, there is every possibility the Big 4 might not have left. Ultimately the Big 4 being split might end up a good thing for us.
