Halfback options?

Miller went alright on friday night against the Doggies. Apart from afew kicking options, he played quite strong.

I'm sorry but I must have been watching a different game. My opinion has changed on Miller being our starting halfback. Maybe under a different coach.

You think he played bad?
I agree he showed some definite weaknesses, but he looked like a strong future option in the halves. After some work.

Yeah I agree, I just see him not being ready yet, for he to be ready for top grade he should have completely dominated that finals game. I think Mulchany outshone him, and he's not ready. Personally I think the treatment Sheens has given him has slowed his progress down.
But if he's still with us next year, he should be given another crack at some stage.

Is there any stand out halfs in the 20's comp atm?

IMO Keary from the Rabbits is the gun halfback & the next best is Cornish from the Raiders. We should have the gun halves in the 20's next year with Moses & Brooks.

I can wait for Moses and Brooks to have a year or two in NYC and let Benji go then put them up in first grade, i think we should start looking at our future something this club does not do.

you can pretty much count on

1\. Tedesco
6\. Marshall
7\. Pearce
9\. Farah

Sonny Bill has told Roosters he wants Cooper at the Roosters for 2014 and Dragons have pulled out of the race for Pearce by signing Josh Drinkwater from Manly NYC apparently a very good player.

Um, no. You can pretty much rule that combo out.

Tigerflames back again. Our best hope is a guy like Sam Williams. Maybe Penrith or the Broncs might feel generous and let us pinch one of their 7's. Either one would be pretty handy

Luke Walsh? No thanks. He's easily in the bottom 5 halfbacks in the comp.

If we're looking for a cheaper, young halfback, I'd go for guys like Aidan Sezer from the Titans, Michael Morgan from the Cowboys, or Raider Sam Williams.

I think it's possible to get any of them. Sezer is off contract now. Before Rd 25, Sezer had 4 tries, 6 line breaks, 31 tackle breaks, 8 try assists, 5 line break assists and 4417 kick metres in 16 games. While he doesn't do majority of the Titans kicking, he kicks for an average of 275m a game, so probably takes around 7-8 per game, helping to ease the pressure on Prince.

The Cowboys still have Ray Thompson and Robert Lui as other halfbacks in their ranks. I doubt they'll keep all three going forward, whether Morgan is the one they get rid of we don't know.

Again, the Raiders also have a few halves at their disposal. Once Campese is back, it'll probably be Williams who has to make way for him. Their U20s halfback, Mitchell Cornish, has big wraps on him and Canberra tend to hang on to and promote their juniors.

Benji's story the other day had Anasta at 7 and him at 6

So logically ( before Sheens decides to screw with 24 times)

1 Tedesco
6 Benji
7 Anasta
9 Farah

I'm so angry with the club for getting rid of Chisholm , why buy him and not even give him a shot at NRL

Just proves to me that Sheens is a lost cause Manly aren't stupid , they obviously see something in Chisholm especially with their coach being a halfback

And the fact their two starting halves are both internationals, the fact they're getting Chisholm for depth and think he's up to the standard to fill in for them says they have confidence in his ability.

Exactly right, I would rate Manly's halves much higher than our own. Guess Sheens doesn't see what other people see in Chisholm.

I agree, for him to shine in the NRL he should be dominating the NYC, which he isnt. So hes got awhile to go, but has the potential.

Ryan Stig from Newcastle would be the go…
He won't get much game time with Mullen, Gidley coming back and the new guy they've blooded this year.
He could easily get quality ball from farah to Marshall, And isn't affraid to take the line on!!
To be honest, I'd also like to see Iosefa get a run in the seven... An off season and I think he could be the goods!!!
Like I said, We just need a quality ball transfer between Farah and Marshall and someone who can take on the line and kick when needed... Iosefa is the man.
Siro has time on his side, But I don't think he is quite ready for a full year of NRL...
But has the confidence and support of the squad to be a long term option.
