Halfway to somewhere or nowhere...

Forumers we are half way through the season and we have certainly had our ups and downs.
Last Friday night was the happiest I have been for quite awhile with the teams performances..they annialated the Rabbits..with 2 games gone in SOO and it is one all with the decider looking like being a beauty..

My question to all you guys is…was last Friday's win against the rabbits a real turning point in our season,or do you think it may have been a flash in the pan type win,and could they go back to the old way of playing while they learn more of the structure JT has implemented ??

Hopefully the turning point, have a feeling we will be more consistent from now and continue to improve steadily but as always will just need to wait and see.

The more this team plays together the better they will combine to improve their plays. Last week may not have been a turning point but it sure was a great ray of hope.

Souffs were woeful last week , but it shows what we're capable of … As Newtown said the more they play the better they'll gel ....
"Onwards and Upwards " !!

In recent years we have been able to get up and put a big effort in about three to four times a year but the rest of time have under achieved and really do not see it changing in 2015\. Far to many kids and lacking maybe two harden NRL standard players players to hope for any real consistency. On a more positive note we are getting better and our kids are getting older and smarter, so fingers crossed things are going to get a lot better in the near future.

See if we get up tomorrow night. We haven't really been able to back up wins consistently and if we can win at Brookvale, a ground we haven't won at since 2003, then we might just be starting to turn a corner.

They really need to put 2 or 3 wins back to back before you can say its a turning point. Every losing streak comes to an end eventually. Its not the match you win to end the losing sequence that counts, its the one after it. Go into the bye having won 4 on the trot, and things will be looking up for the run home.

Turning point for mine TT.

We got rid of the constant one out attack (that means no decoys and/or support players for those that somehow seem to think that nothing changed on the weekend) which had allowed us to be dominated last month, and it won't be allowed to happen again. As such, I reckon we will see better footy over the second half of the year and more wins as a result.

Our For and Against is pretty good seeing we have a negative win lose ratio

Happy,do you think it is a turning point or will they go back to the structured play JT has implemented ??

We are halfway to somewhere. Our defence has improved significantly despite our inexperience and youth. Our goal-line defence is as good as its ever been.

Our playmakers seem to be over the hump and should move forward from here. Woods, Sue, Lodge, Ava, Lawrence, Lovett, Simona, Nofo, Kev are on a steep upward tradjectory. How many teams can say that most of their list have significant improvement? Maybe Penrith?

It will probably be like that old western

Good ,bad or Ugly ??

With the youth in the side you just can't tell , but that's the exciting part at the moment :sign:

We are still too inconsistent imo for it to be any serious turning point, but I probably thought the same thing after that first win of 8 straight in 05 too…who knows

Hlaves still too green for mine....but if someone can take a leaf out of Martys book, like Marty took one out of Woodsys....and then so on and so on doewn the line...could be intersting....feed off each others positivity

I think it's ok to play JT's structured style play as long as we know when to take advantage of any momentum our forwards have created. We did this v Souths.

We just have to play with plenty of energy for 80 mins, every week.

We can't go back to Taylor ball. If we do we will lose games consistently and be bundled out of the competition. I think that has been proven.

We have a chance if we play positive football. That doesn't mean we will win the comp or anything like that however it will give us a chance to win some more games and possibly start becoming a good team.

We need a whole bunch of players to step up. Our pack needs to fire and we really need our halves to perform.

The way i see it after the Canberra game Taylor drew a line in the sand, some would say he got the sooks but end result was that he dumbed down the whole game until the players got the message.

What resulted was an unacceptable brand of boring football that gave us no chance of winning. The pressure mounted on both coach and players. They both dug deep last week and returned to the type of footy this team can play.

The game tonight will tell us where this team is headed.

Everyone on this forum would hope that this is a turning point for us. But we are all mature enough to understand that we are a long way off being a Souths, Roosters or Storm type of outfit.

We have to earn that. Small steps.

Start winning against the top teams at full strength regularly. Fingers crossed

Beating the top teams is important , but just as important is not losing games against the bottom sides or understrength sides

That's what keeps you competitive for a Top 8 spot

Some very good opinions and thoughts in respect to where we are as a team at the moment..

I really think tonight's game should give us an excellent indication of how well the young side has adapted to JTs structure, they will be pressured defensively and in attack,so hopefully we see them take along the same attitude they had when they trounced the Rabbits….

Go the WESTS Tigers..good luck to the team and JT....
