Halfway to somewhere or nowhere...

My take is that we are in a bad situation mainly due to losing games we should have won but there is a lot of promise. Our situation is very similar to where we have been.

Again our outside backs need an injection of a quality player or two. Nofo and Naiqama are pretty poor defensively and Richards is slower than any winger in the comp.

JT has been a dud so far but I think that is more to do with his stupid Taylor Ball tactics that hopefully he will not go back too. If he drops that and stops the spin then he might come good.

Our halves need to improve however I think they are going pretty well considering they are new to first grade.

In my honest opinion I think the big win against Souths took a lot out of the young guys,Moses was pretty good last night, however Brooks wasn't as sharp or as good in defense as last week..yet another learning curve game…Kev looked like his hammy is still troubling him and Noofa going off destabilised the plan, although his defense needs more work for the centre position..to me it seemed they kept having a go against a much more talented and experienced NRL side...

After we lost 4 straight taylor stated we would win more than we lost from then.At the moment we are 1-1 since the statement and once again it is hard to see where a winning streak is liable to happen.I hope i am wrong but a wooden spoon appears to be a realistic possibility.

We have the youngest roster in the NRL. Youth at this level equals inconsistency.

We will be rocks and diamonds for a while yet.

Importantly, I can see a change. We don't get pumped by forty, we have the ability to dominate in the forwards, our spine is getting better, injuries don't seem to plague us as much.

I think we are halfway to somewhere, it's just that this season is more than half-way over and while we're improving, this year's finish line may be a little too close.

Well, we're turning that corner Ink.

And we're finding that we have a long steep section in front of us and we are driving a 4 cylinder, not a V8, and we have 4 flat tyres.

The fuel gauge is also showing empty.

Sorry, a bit off topic - but why does Willie Mason always have the last laugh on us?

Because we have refused to sign him twice now I think CQ

He probably likes to show us what we are missing out on

I think that Toovey used him wisely last night by keeping him on the bench and starting the youngster, who showed good technique in defence and is a worker. Whilst he is nowhere near the player he was, his aggression and smarts were still useful in getting on top of our bench players.

People have a fixation with the spoon - who cares!!!!!

The main thing is that the players improve individually and as a team. We will win a few and lose a few - as long as they learn, put in the effort and gain as much experience each week as possible.

I'm happy with that and the trophy.

Everyone on this forum would hope that this is a turning point for us. But we are all mature enough to understand that we are a long way off being a Souths, Roosters or Storm type of outfit.

We have to earn that. Small steps.

Start winning against the top teams at full strength regularly. Fingers crossed

Beating the top teams is important , but just as important is not losing games against the bottom sides or understrength sides

That's what keeps you competitive for a Top 8 spot

It was almost if you could smell it coming

And it didn't smell good either

We are now equal last,a great big reality check for JT,lets hope he does something about it.
