Maybe we should look at players that are ready to play first grade now and that can sign multi year deals. Or are we a club here just to get players ready for other teams.

Blore is the most confusing to me. We only have him signed for this year and next year. You just know we're going to bring him in when the season is almost over, he'll kill it, then someone will sign him for 2022 come November, then we'll release him early.

Madge will have to be careful there’s quite a few boys who will be talked to by other clubs come November.

You would have thought he'd have seen enough of him train to know whether an extension or upgrade is worthwhile... hope we're not going to sit on our hands.

I’m assuming they didn’t give him a longer contract because he was coming off injury. If we give him his debut hopefully that means he’ll want to stay.

The boys Madge has signed on really do seem to be buying into what he’s doing so hopefully that helps keep them around.

if we can keep Grant just for next year my team would be
1. Doeuihi
2. Nofoaluma
3. Leilua
4. Cini/Momirovski
5. Talau
6. Reynolds
7. Brooks
8. Musgrove
9. Grant
10. Aloiai
11. Garner
12. Leilua
13. Twal
14. Liddle
15. Mikaele
16. Utoikamanu
17. Blore

It's a good team with the worst halves in the comp. We need to get rid of Reynolds and get a quality half. Brooks may also have to be moved on but I don't think that is critical. Worst case we have those halves next year but we go out and spend big on young halves and hope they come good.

I’d rather him get a run as soon as possible so we can really know. Seems like his fitness is just about there now considering he’s in the 21.

He would also be cheap so adding another year onto his contract wouldn’t be a bad idea at all. I’m sure Madge has a plan with it all, lots of quality coming off contract after 2021 but we will have a lot more money for 2022 with Reynolds, packer going.

Grant is easily our best option in the 9

These blokes need to knock him out of his perch if they want his spot

2021 is a new year ...we can face it then ...you'd hope that Liddle is squeezing every little bit of info from Grant's brain ...having been mentored by Farah and then feeding off what Grant has learnt from Cammie ...that can't hurt long term

I don’t think McQueen will do anything bad but he won’t stand out either. Probably prefer that to MCK dropping the ball and missing tackles.

Definitely keen to see Blore get a run. In training photos he looks huge

We are a club who needs to win games and make finals, Harry will be a big help for that. I don’t see any good hookers available for next year anyway, certainly no one on Harry’s level.

Yeah, that was the reasoning in signing Farah on a 9 game contract a few years ago but we're no better off in that position or as a team. Round and round we go.

They have a plan with Simpkin at the very least he’s a very highly rated prospect but with no reserve grade this year it’s tough, otherwise he could be playing next season.

Then he did his ACL, that’s the whole reason we got grant. That’s not anyone’s fault is it? In a perfect world he never got injured and he’s carving up at the moment.

I remember when he came back last year from injury

He was easily our most dangerous player even when we looked like absolute arse

Madge is his press conference today shutting down the idea of Harry Grant staying another year.

He said when the club signed him they knew it would be a one year loan and nothing has changed.

New rules will suit him too. He’s the fastest player at the club. Madge said he’s about 2-3 weeks away and he talked him up big time in his press conference. Says he’s confident in him to be a quality hooker

Wouldn't be going all in on Grant yet.
He has come back to the pack the last two weeks as teams have figured out cheating at marker is permitted. Also want to see a bit more of a kicking game before shelling out huge $$$.

Very happy to have him here, but not prepared to give him a ridiculous contract (yet).

A young Robbie Farrah was just as good but had a great kicking game as well.

From what I've seen, the young hooker we've signed is extremely dangerous out of dummy half.

He’s regarded as one of the best young guys around. Good pickup

Rightfully so too, I think Madge handled that question really well. The only reason we got him was because Madge and Bellamy clearly have a great relationship. Obviously would love for him to be our long term hooker but at the same time he's a Storm player and if the NRL is to have more of these loan type arrangements in the future he needs to go back.

Hopefully Simpkin is a gun.

Moot point now but Liddle is fit for next year so no need for a 1 year deal for another hooker.

Look no one is going to come out and confirm anything until something is certain.
This arrangement hedges on Smith playing on. Until that is confirmed or not there’s no deal required. It’s another temporary bid until we get our own hooker sorted.
There’s no harm in continuously canvassing all options.
Who knows, Melbourne may not want Harry to play another year outside their systems they may have plans to interchange him and Smith next year.
All a bunch of ifs but an option maybe.
