Harry Grant

Benji on 360 said you can tell Harry comes from a good system, he's very professional

Not a great reflection on the WT system

I can't wait for 3 years of people trying to analyse the deeper meaning of what Benji says on Fox.

Does Benji's comments mean Melbourne Storm are the only club with a good system, or does it just mean that Grant came from one club with a good system.

GNR4Life I wish I could be as happy as you to see our best player in Grant leaves ... but we have Nofo so all is good with the team

"Our"...

That is the thing, he was not "our" player.

This is not like Tedesco jumping ship.

I’m realistic, not happy. And yes, we have one of the best wingers in the game. All good in that department.

He was OURs for season 2020,he played with the heart of a Tiger from the day he got here and Iam so glad that this fine young man is proud to be the number 231 of the WTs playing group...he has nothing to regret from his time with us and he has done the club a great justice by being part of our organisation if only for the year..

As I’ve said before, we were just a surrogate mother, bringing him to term for his real mother (Melbourne)

not knocking Harry by the way a champion was the Best player this year for us and hope he has every success in rep honours in the future. He was OUR player in 2020 not a loan player.
Hopefully the club doesn't blow all its money in 2021 and 2022 on buying JAC and resigning Nofo at ridiculous prices maybe we can have a crack at Harry again in 2022

The club does not need any more attention, and the interview with Benji did not help this. I agree that the generational change is an issue, young players are not mentally as tough as past players, and don't handle tough love very well. So if this is true then Madge needs to be a bit more flexible and find a balance. He will be a year or 2 away, but young Simpkins is near a clone of Harry and will be a great player if we can keep him. Watching the Melbourne game, JAC showed that he has it to play fullback, would just need some coaching and fine tuning, he is a star.

Not sure about a year or 2 away with a good pre season he could be pushing for a starting spot

Would have given him a bench spot when we were out of contention. He’s a much bigger body than Liddle so I’m sure he would’ve been fine

Actually he is shorter and weighs the same - bigger is a myth.

if Liddle plays all 28 games including semi finals next year I will be amazed good luck to him hope I am wrong he is a good footballer but built like a soggy sao

Doesn't say much for Grant and Simpkin then does it.

Liddle is bigger than both of them.

Liddle has had more time to develop but Simpkins definitely looks like a stocky build

Predict Simpkin if he gets to share duties with Liddle will be the starter by the end of the year and heading into 2022

Liddle is injury prone Russ

Simpkin hasn't played one game yet - you are only guessing he is not injury prone.

Grant was injured whilst playing for us - is he injury prone?

Liddle has had a bad injury tick
Grant had an injury and came back pretty strong so no he is not injury prone imo.
Grant is at the next level of hookers
Simpkins has the same type of feel I dont want to use the word hype but he has that same feel as Grant did he has everyone talking.
Liddle is a very solid player just think Simpkins will be better and the long term option moving forward in 2022 and beyond.

Liddle is taller and a bit slimmer but still muscly. Simpkin is shorter and very stocky

What their body shape is doesn’t really mean anything when it comes to injuries there’s plenty of big muscly dudes that constantly get injured.

That last injury to Liddle’s knee was not his fault, Tommy collided with his knee and that would have done the same amount of damage to any other players.
So I wouldn’t label Jacob as injury prone.

Liddle is surprisingly tall if you meet him in person. At least 6 foot minimum. I’m six foot three and he’s not that much shorter then me when I met him.

Just to add to that his height on the NRL app is listed as 6 foot as well. Simpkin listed just under 6 foot.

Saw Benji on 360 seems to be bitter about not playing on at the Tigers so much so that he wouldn’t sign the members caps as part of our membership despite our support for all his years there and at other clubs .Hubby was very disappointed

That is poor if true as he is still under contract and being paid by WT till the end of the month(i will apologise if he is not still being paid by the club)
