Harry Triguboff Wests Tigers Savior?

The Tigers will always be my team but I no longer worry about the never ending dramas.
Plain & simple the club is unprofessional & an embarrassment to the NRL.

The "Tigers" have been in the finals 3 times in last 25 years & won 1 competition in the last 46 years.
Maybe there is a better way of running a club :brick: .

Harry Triguboff please buy the Club now. It's Time.

It's not going to happen dude.

If I had a billion dollars would you want me to run the club? I'd be really good at it, after all I have watched the game for 30 years and really love the Tigers. That's all you need isn't it…

No problems "El Presidente "

Give us your money :smiling_imp:

Maybe not but if Mr Triguboff buying the Wests Tigers is a very unlikely plan B then what is plan A on March 31, 2016 when the Balmain Tigers have to repay the NRL all of their outstanding debts? This issue is bigger & more important than all the garbage being currently played out in the media.

I posted this a few months ago as the real elephant in the room as with most things of real importance with this site it was treated as a joke but as you have said this is the real big deal this is all about the future of this club and ownership moving forward not worrying about a primadona and his dummy spitting endeavours .

If Harry really wanted to buy Wests Ashfield I'm sure that he could make an offer that they could not refuse.

He was talking at one stage of buying Wests Tigers, not Wests Ashfield.

I should have said West Ashfield's 50% share.

I don't suppose your gonna let on who the players are?

Harry T will never buy the club out. It's just posturing in the media. I'm happy for us to take whatever help he offers but we are fools to think he'd ever buy the club outright.

I don't give a rats backside who owns the Wests Tigers, All I know is I do not
- Outside of that I have no interest in who does.

Harry never will, If he wanted in he'd have done more than he has until now…
Even if we changed ownership tomorrow, It would take him 5-6 years to get everything in place, And he simply doesn't have that long.

Wests Campbelltown no longer have any ownership, Just happy to sit back and increase revenue on game day.

Balmain have been broke more times than a 15 year old dope smoker - Couldn't become sustainable with a 100 million dollar injection. It's obvious idiots are running the joint and that won't change any time soon. I can't believe after ALL THIS TIME, With the amount of Legends that club has to their name that nothing has been done to try and raise cash to help their problem.
Maybe the club legends no the same thing as everyone else, It's like throwing money in the lake.

Wests Ashfield are in an interesting situation, Sitting on all their money and claiming their hands are tied because of the Balmain situation....
It could be true - But I don't believe it!!
The Balmain situation is only 5-7 years old... Where was this sleeping giant and all this money for the first 10 years of the JV? We've been broke since day dot.
- It just doesn't ring right!!

I hope WA do buy out the BT share... But I hope they buy it for the right reasons and are prepared to kick in money to make the team the super power they claim it can be without a gimp partner.
Wests Tigers needs 5 Million + from them, Year in - year out...
To even consider having the Football club be competitive in the market. Sure, with our Juniors we will have Teddy or Woods come through from time to time - But with out the big kick ins to run the joint properly - We won't keep them.

All the biggest best clubs have major kick ins' from their benefactors, Weather that's a club, a movie star or a shody car salesman...

Wests Tigers have been lucky to get half of those numbers from 2 clubs until now.
If WA want it, They should have it...
Balmain don't deserve it and have made it very obvious, No amount of money can save them.

Something tells me WA will buy out BT's share of the joint venture and think it will be OK to run it on the 1-2 mil a year they have been kicking in until now....

Time will tell.....

Back to thread topic, Harry won't buy WT's - Why would he.... He's thrown us scraps until now in sponsorship etc. Just because he's good in real estate, That doesn't make him good at anything else...

Interesting development at St George Illawarra re: private ownership…
http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-league/league-news/st-george-illawarra-put-10-million-price-tag-on-50-per-cent-share-of-club-20151209-glj4mc.html

I assume Wests Ashfield (Magpies) will buyout non-financial Balmain Tigers 50 percent stake early next year & take full control over some of the Balmain Tigers junior district clubs.

What happens after West Tigers NRL licence agreement expires in a few years will probably determine if some of us forum punters still have a club to follow. This forum name will need to be changed or shutdown.

How do you work out that Wests Ashfield will take full control of Balmain Juniors. That is not up for grabs. If they buy 50% - they get the other half of Wests Tigers - not the Balmain Juniors.

Why also will the Forum need a new name? Why would it need to shut down?

The Australian reported that Harry has been reinvigorated by the property boom which is unprecedented. Meriton has sites in/around Eastgardens, at least one in Parramatta and looking at the Sydney Fish Markets.

spot on mate.
this one is actually quite a big deal.
people want to scoff at it etc but in reality it does seem very much a case whereby Wests / magpies will buy out the partnership should Balmain not be able to pay their debt.
At this stage, there is nothing in the air regarding them even being in a position to pay their debt.

im hoping people are moving and shaking in the background to try and get it resolved but i think everyone knows its not a great look at the moment.

being that the two clubs dont see eye to eye, there is a debt, there is instability amongst the coach and players, the team isnt winning on the field etc etc, i just dont see harry stepping in unless he buys the club and gets full control.

Annnnnd, then theres the good old Perth move chit chat…...
which unless the club gets a private owner is 100% on the cards !

Im more worried about the Wests group having sole control. They pretty much had that prior to the current board, and we were in trouble then.

Having said that, I dont know or care alot about the politics behind the scenes.

1 Question in 2 parts…Why would Perth want a transplanted basket case..?... And..Would the people of Perth get behind said basket case... Would they not want there OWN team to support..?

to be really honest Geo, i dont actually think its even part of the equation of what the "people" of perth "want" per sae.
people being your ordinary punters like you and me.
And i dont think for 1 second it will ever be communicated that the club is a basket case.
the NRL will talk it up and paint a very very pretty picture.

lets also be 100% blunt here - the peoples wants are vary very rarely considered in business dealings at this level.

(did any fans in NSW want their clubs to merge ? )

Perth the state wont look at a NRL team as a basket case - they will look at it purley from a business and geographical significance point of view.

They will be included in the National rugby league competition which also means other teams will now be playing games in their state.
for sports events etc - thats a pretty good carrot. its quite significant for perth as a state.

As for the people / punters - mate human nature will show that take up may be slow to start with but with good business nous good community programs good overall club environment - any club that sets up in Perth and does good business / privately and community wise - could succeed.

I don't see WT relocating to Perth or anywhere else for that matter.
Sydney's our home and will be for a long time to come.

Looks like the "Balmain Tigers" will be officially dead & buried after March 31, 2016\. Notwithstanding NRL approval Wests Magpies Ashfield will take over everything formerly run by the Balmain Tigers.
