**If worse comes to worst BDJRL would likely be split up with the surrounding junior leagues districts of Norths Parra and Bulldogs**

That's my point. Wests Tigers run & owned by Wests Ashfield would be crazy to let opposition NRL clubs raid & take over the Balmain Juniors area.
Again, only speculation but maybe the trade off to agree to remain as **Wests** **Tigers** in the NRL is for Wests Ashfield to take over the Balmain junior district & field junior teams as the Wests Magpies playing in an expanded Western Suburbs Junior District.
For the record I don't think Wests Ashfield have any intention of changing the NRL name from the Tigers to the Magpies. If they did it would be goodbye to probably 80 percent of their fans, including me.

1) Why would BDJFC let Wests Ashfield or WT take them over? Neither of these control Balmain. It Beggers belief that if Balmain get thrown out of WT (which it looks like they will), why they would hand over their juniors to Wests Ashfield after receiving no favors from them.

The NRL have stated that Tigers stay as the logo - no return to Wests Magpies regardless of what happens. Si it does not matter if Wests Ashfield want to change the name or not.

this isnt speculation…. The NRL have nothing to do with running Junior Competition.

The district competitions fall under the responsibility of the NSWRL, and it will be there decision which junior clubs play in which competition.

Mate… how many times have I told you ..when you bring facts into it ...it just confuses everyone...

Can I ask who currently runs & funds the BDJFC?
Yeah, the NRL under now ex-CEO Dave Smith stated that the "Tigers" stay as the mascot/logo but it's all bets off when the current licence grant expires in a few years. The only guarantee is that we fans will be the last to know anything. Wests Ashfield hold all the cards but I don't trust them or the NRL fullstop.

Russell, West's Ashfield sponsor at least 4 of the Balmain junior clubs…. So saying they get no favours from them isn't quite right

Personally I didn't mind merging with wests . Aways had a soft spot for them so it worked well for me. Just disappointing that some old magpie supporters are loving the fact Balmain could be gone. Turn back the clock 15 years and it's a different story, they were begging for Balmains help. For me i was more than happy to help save them and in turn secure our own future. 2 battlers working together….should have worked well.

Yeah,i have no problem with the merger but as much as i hate quoting Alan Jones he was proven correct, when the merger was first mooted he stated putting 2 struggling Clubs(or anything) together you don't solve problems you double them.
Lots of pressure on Balmain at the time to merge,my beef from that period is the Sydney Tigers fiasco meant options along similar lines were never explored or even considered, the same with the development of the Leagues Club, all options were not explored fully for whatever reasons.

jones had a point… We lived by 50/50 for years and we got nowhere.... Still nowhere.. The alternative was being swallowed up by the dogs and parra
Drown?
Or tread water

The thing is though, any old Magpies fans who are death riding Balmain, don't actually support the club. That isn't a true supporter thing, like if they supported the club they would want Balmain to succeed because that would make for a stronger WT's, i mean that in the way of they don't support the club. Its people like Alien and the rest of the neckbeards who want to see the club die. They don't matter. If you're familiar with South Park, they're like the Priests outside of Satan's super sweet 16 Halloween party calling the fire marshall, but the fire marshall was actually at the party.

People care way too much about what these nobodies think of the club.

Alright..that could apply to any Sydney Club…But if it is ...Wests as it is looking likely to take up the other 50% of the Wests Tigers as they have first and last offer at which time all NRL loans will be repaid ..You think they would do so believing re-location is on the cards...I doubt It...they are in fact on record as stating as far as Wests Tigers branding and licence goes nothing will change...

The current NRL licence for the Wests Tigers is in place until the end of 2018....At which time with the new funding agreement will be in place as recently outlined by the NRL until at least 2022....

TBH the only place I have seen re-location mentioned is by members on this forum who appear to have their tin-foil hats on a little too tight...

correct.
Any sydney club that is in major turmoil - as a club - should be concerned.
thats 100%

this is being raised here in this forum as a concern because the club is a basket case.
Its certainly been discussed outside of this forum by many people within the NRL
thats also 100%
