Has Benji lost pace

He seemed to have couple of small hobbles after pulling up and passing the ball. Maybe was a little tight in a couple of muscles but otherwise it is quite possible he's lost a yard or 2

i think he has lost a yard or two, he also looks a couple of kilos heavier this year. but i think if he had pinned his ears back and went for it he would have got away from him.

His pace started to fade early last year and this year has dropped right off. He has bulked up big time and now is more a ball player than a runner. Was always going to happen, same thing happened to Fittler at the same age, but like Freddie I think Benji is a way better player now than he was a few years back

Lost his pace since he did his knee. Lightening still over 25 meters. And still one of fastest in their testing over 25\. But after that slowed right up

he was never a long race horse, as t rex said lightening over a short distance, and really that's all you need from your half speedwise. the fb should be there supporting him, but dont blame moltzen there, he was involved somewhere else.

tamou surprised me though, that left step on moltzen was a beauty

Whats all the excuses??? His lost pace only cause he needs to lose about 5kg not because of injury. Always seems to be a bit over weight begining mid season.

Benji stepped up at the right time today. I was really glad to see it. After that pass he threw to beau down the short side after the line break I thought it was going to be one of those days, but he collected himself.

I think he's definitely not as fast over the 100m these days, but his goal kicking, kicks in general play and pass selection are much better than 3 or4 years ago.

Ps - Here's an interesting fact. Benji hasn't missed a shot at goal since 29th April, in the match against parra.

I knew this was going to happen gets engaged and now his power is being drained ! was hoping he wouldn't meet someone until he was 30 odd.

He definately isnt as fast as he was. He has played all year and most of last year injury free though. I guess its swings and roundabouts. Would have been nice if he could have gone the destance.

Maybe lost a bit of pace; but I'm so sure he could have beaten Tamou if he had kept going. Tamou would have ran out of gas a lot faster than Benji.

He's lucky hes not a boxer…that 'jab' or whatever it was on Tamou was embarrassing

He's not lucky, if he was a boxer he would be in the ring not nrl!
Not saying this is the case here but do many ppl think because someone plays footy or is strong that they must be able to fight.. If u havnt trained to fight why would anyone know how to throw one

Tamou had a good 10-15m start on Benji and had just come back onto the field refreshed

If Benji held his line and kept going, Tamou would have fell off him I reckon. He was shot after stepping round Moltzen in the second half. Has explosive pace for a big fella though.

Ha ha. In brnjis defense he did the rIght thing by the team and pulled the punch short to prevent giving away the penalty. Jennings could learn something from benji.

I have no idea what it is, but there is some kind a phenomenon with chases. A player rushing down the sideline vs a player coming across the field to tackle, and alot of the time the tackle is made.

Think Sattler vs Byrne. Sam Gillet almost caught Justin O'Neil on Friday night, and O'Neil is said to be the fastest player at the Storm (Faster than SLATER). Tamou today, all with that same scenario. It's very strange.
