Has there ever been less excitement around the Tigers?

Feels like we have been transported back to 2002-03 where 10 weeks out from the end of the season your already out of contention for finals. Fans and players going through the motions with little to no reason to get excited for next year.

4 years now without finals
coach say results don't matter performances do
Lots of plodders
Dwindling Crowds
No new signings
No real media coverage

Even in our bad years between 2004 and 2014 you could expect big crowds at the traditional games. They were like evtns. The Benji hype train lasted close to a decade good or bad. However this week if 10 000 turn up at leichhardt it will probably be a miricle. Feels like the season is already to an extent.

Be a hard sell to attract new members for next year. Or even keep existing ones.

I must say it is average Eddie. What frustrates me the most is the start to the year we had. We were playing like it was towards the end of the season. As the season has gone on we got worse. We must have some sort of Benjamin Button disease running through the club.

This year would make more sense to me had we not started so well early on.

Supporting the WT is like a roller coaster, isn't it Eddy. A lot of highs and steep descents.
We must be damn crazy putting up with it, but wouldn't have it any other way.
But the hardest thing is trying to figure out what is going on within our club, and how to improve things. :supporter:

Everyone is just over it.

We hear year on year that things are changing but nothing ever eventuates. We have sparks of brilliance when our young guns throw the ball around, but we just don't have that competitive edge that other clubs have.

People turn up to games if they know that their team is going to give it to the opposition win or lose. We don't see it enough to believe it will consistently happen.

Then furthermore, there has been 0 talk of signings for next year. Nothing to get excited about if we are going to have to deal with the same crap next year.

I always used to be excited and look forward to the season and each week be fired up for the game. This season that enthusiasm has largely evaporated. dont get me wrong i will support my club till i die but this is the most underwhelming season i can recollect and i am 62

I liken it to sitting in a car that won't start on the side of the road.

You keep on trying to turn it over but it just won't click. Finally, the ignition engages and you get going (Souths game) only to find yourself once again sitting on the side of the road about 20m from where you were (Manly game).

I have always been a fan that prefers the excitement of going to the grounds to watch the Tigers play but this year it has been so easy to stay at home and watch the games on TV.
So that probably answers your question.

If there is a plan for next year, then now is the time to introduce it.

We are well out of the running for the Finals, so why not give some of the better younger guys
some experience and a taste of the NRL…..you never know, some might excel.

I'm really excited with the WTF tipping contest…..

I'm really excited that there is only about 10 games left........before the end of this season !!

I don't know about everyone else , but I thought we were on the verge of a premiership in 2012

Hardly Happy… We Didn't win it in 2009/2010 and we were a far better team in 09/10 than 11\. We were lucky to finish where we did in 11, We were terrible compared to the 2 years before.

We were premiership favourites at the start of the year, top 4 in round 14, and even in round 23 were 8th, and two points clear of 9th.

What an almighty monumental choke that was.

:frowning:

Such a shameful way to send off Gareth Ellis as well, those last couple of games against the Roosters and Melbourne were awful.

The answer is no.

Whats more we are not a club who can afford for this to continue.

With the squeeze on out west we are heading straight for relocation at this rate.

Yeah…I think I'll start going for Parra and tip the opposition every week...

BTW Batboy I think you have your dates mixed up ..We didn't make the 8 in '09..thanks again Parra...In '11 we lost to the Warriors 2 games short of the GF..I remember that cause Farah/Benji ran it on the last instead of kicking deep nek minnit..Lote drops a bomb,...

The club is in limbo ATM until the situation with Balmain concludes early next year nothing much is going to happen. The club is in a very vulnerable position for relocation like it or not no major decisions are being made except for flicking the CEO which I have some reservations about. When organisations cut communication with stack holders there is something a foot, nothing to get excited about ATM one thinks there is going to be a lot of excitement in the next half year

For $30 the club is selling for Sunday's match a package of general admission (usually $20) plus a Wests Tigers blanket. I somehow think it needs to offer more than that to entice the fans to Leichhardt on Sunday.

I bought two LO memberships this year and have yet to attend a game, the team give me no confidence, everyone likes their team to have a chance of winning before attending, especially with a long drive home, the Panthers backs will lap us on Sunday, Hoeter will be very busy
