Has there ever been less excitement around the Tigers?

I get that feeling about rugby league in general . It doesn't excite me that much at all anymore . The main reasons I believe is that a) the tigers are stale and have been for 3-4 years . We smash Souths then lose to the team coming last it's the same old story with us . That comes down to the playing personal we have due to the poorly run club we have .
2nd reason is there is simply too much rugby league these days , I actually don't look forward to watching it Sometimes I watch the scores on the phone or tablet because I couldn't be bothered watching the game anymore it's so bloody predictable and really badly run .
The media has a lot to answer for .
Tigers are in some big trouble but so is the game in general

This year would make more sense to me had we not started so well early on.

Surely we are not getting worse.

The more we hear , the more it sounds like Fluff to appease the Board.

Come to think about it, I suppose it's not such a stupid way to start a three year term with a non achieving club.

Year 1: From day 1 Blame all visible and perceived problems on previous Admins, Coaches And the Club Mascot.
Make it clear from the start that we are not recruiting anyone until the second or
Third year.
Blame everything on previously back ended contracts. Sack, or let go just enough
Players to get supporters to believe that just maybe , we may be able to buy some
Players in second year with the money saved.
Make enough comments to convince every one that we don't care about results or
Semi finals, so that no matter how bad we go, expectations will always be low
Enough to ward off some of the criticism.
When we have one of our surprise Wins , (as we usually do at least a couple
Of times each Season) We can say"See it's not as bad as it looks" , "We are working
On it , It's slow , but we are getting there" , "they really dug deep tonight"
And various other Coachtalk slogans.
Being careful not to use "Rugby League is the winner tonight" Benny Elias
Whacked that one to death years ago.
It's surprising how fast that first season will go ( except for club supporters of
course).
At the seasons end, the Coach will have come through with flying colours, as one
Who, has lifted the team singlehanded from 10th place to 15th place. ???????
Anyway, our structures are now in place, our defence lessons have been a sucess.
we scored three tries in the last six games,
But they were great tries, with at least two people handling the ball in each one
Watch us go next year!!!!!!

Year two: season start : From The Coach
It's really disapointing that our previously mentioned Cap problems are really a lot Worse than first thought, so those Five internatials that we had earmarked for this year are
Unable to be signed. ( bugger those previous Admins , Coaches , and Mascots )
" However its not really as bad as it looks" , "we have put in over the off season ",
And, As Some players had complained about an unbalanced game plan and training methods,
We have changed our approach , and this year we are not going to worry about defence , instead we will be putting in New. … (wait for it). ....STRUCTURES for our
Attack Yes , this year we will be going all out in ATTACK.
If we score more points than them , we will win every game.
BUT.........as this is a sharp departure from our plans last year, we are not
Interested in the
Top Eight or even winning games . Until we get this attack thing working well and
Going in The right direction, we will have to ask our supporters for their patience,
Yes, just like last year!!!!
By round 23 this year we will be able to unveil some of the best attacking football
Ever seen in this Club
When the Boys showed me this Attacking stuff, I was really impressed.
Wait until the other clubs find out about it , it's amazing
The Board, the supporters and the Sponsors will love me.
Must go now , I've got to put the witches hats out for training.

The other good news is , that if this doesn't work out, then next year we'll
Start a five year REBUILDING PLAN that I've got up my sleeve. I'm just working on
New STRUCTURES for that one now . Just in case

I agree .

Another thing as well is that there is that many shows during the week every bloody night on Fox , The Matty Johns show straight after Monday Night footy . Then Tuesday Night you have NRL 360 , Sterlo on Wednesday it just never ends .
It doesn't even give you time to miss the game a bit during the week .

It has become a game owned by the media rather than the fans

I used to watch nearly all of them….but they began to be all about the same thing, rarely watch now....sunday footy show is good to catch highlites of the games I havent watched any more

They think the fans are stupid , there in for a massive shock when it's time to recruit Member's for next year .
There is nothing that can excite you for next year in terms of players signed…... e.g had we signed players like Beau Scott , Lewis Brown , SKD anyone ??????? to get us buzzing for next year .

Stand by for a Ben Murdoch Masila type signing

Oh I remember it all so well too, as it all took place right in front of where I was sitting, just past the halfway mark. Like an accident in slow motion you could hear me all around the ground yelling NOOOOOO!! when they ran it on the last - right at that moment I knew the Warriors would score again. Thanks for the reminder Geo :bawling

This has been a strange season. It reminds me of 2004\. At the end of that year plenty of the members who sat around me at LO said they had had enough. They weren't renewing. 5 years, no finals appearances. Consistently losing games they should win or at least be competitive in. Things can change. I'm not saying that we will win the comp next year. But things changing was the motivation for me renewing my membership this year and getting to as many games as possible. I think it is times like this that we really show that we are Tiger fans. I keep thinking how good it would be just to make the Semis again. Finish 8th even, imagine how big that will be if we can do that in the next few years. Look at the hype that surrounded the Richmond Tigers last year in the AFL. They scrapped into 8th place after many years without a finals appearance. They lost the Semi by a bit but they have really kicked on this year.

I think the drama of last year still has plenty to do with it. As well as the floggings and poor performances that went with it. I couldn't wait for the season to end and when this season started, I still felt unprepared to start getting to games and screaming out 'Tigers' once again. When we got rolled from well front against Bulldogs and Raiders it was just a thought of here we go again. Another season, same old thing.

Still no better place than to start to turn things around and create a bit on motivation than a Sunday afternoon at LO. Hope we can get plenty there.

My empathy is totally to do with off field. It feels like we're in a holding pattern. No decision on training facilities or venue allocation , we don't even know who is going to own the club next year.

You might be right. Alarm bells went off in my head when the NRL got onto our board.

I am pleased that I am not alone in feeling how I do this year. I thought it was just me….but clearly it isn't. I have been to only a couple of games when, in years past, I would be at each and every home game and anywhere we played in Sydney.

I am just not convinced about anything to do with WT at the moment; the board, the coach, the staff, the marketing, the "genuine" quality of the players, any real plan for the future.

I am uninspired and full of doubt. And, sometimes the team looks like it too.

I will never support another NRL side while ever the Tigers are around. But, whether I will continue to pay for membership and merchandise and go to games.....?? That's another question altogether.

It is weird I also just can not put my finger on it but something smells fishy to me , I also am glad I am not the only one with this feeling! This will be our last season as members we will still follow the club but to be honest just over all the crap and the non connection that is being displayed from the new Chair and board.

I watched a game similar to the Wests Tigers on the weekend.

It was called Lotto

The first ball dropped and I hoped that my number would come up. Nope.
Second ball dropped. Hey that's mine, no - one off.

Third ball - got one! Yeah, here we go. We're on a roll now.

Fourth ball - yes! Number 6! Wait, no it's number 9.

Anyway - I took a system to increase my odds of winning. I got one number on more than 3/4 of the games. I really did think that I had 3 correct numbers and a supplementary but it was my poor eye sight. Anyway, I'll put another Lotto on this week too. I am full of hope again because all of the numbers go back in the barrel.

I know the odds are well against me but I can't help it. That's me and the Wests Tigers every week. Always full of hope and always disappointed. There's always next week. The one time I don't follow my numbers and don't put my money on them in Lotto - then, They will win.
