Has there ever been less excitement around the Tigers?

I must say it is average Eddie. What frustrates me the most is the start to the year we had. We were playing like it was towards the end of the season. As the season has gone on we got worse. We must have some sort of Benjamin Button disease running through the club.

This year would make more sense to me had we not started so well early on.

Surely we are not getting worse.
JT keeps telling us it's not as bad as it looks, and we are heading in the right direction , as well as , we' re working on it( whatever that means) and gradually improving.

Surely you don't thing that Our esteemed Coach is being a bit loose with the truth ???????

I liken it to sitting in a car that won't start on the side of the road.

You keep on trying to turn it over but it just won't click. Finally, the ignition engages and you get going (Souths game) only to find yourself once again sitting on the side of the road about 20m from where you were (Manly game).[/quote)

Maybe the old bus is completely clapped out and we need a new model
Or maybe the kids have pinched the keys and have no idea how to drive. Lol

The longer you keep listening to the Taylor spiel the more you keep losing interest, players and fans alike.

I put something similar on FB a few days ago

The club will have a hard time retaining members next year, blaming cap dramas due to previous admin wont cut it.

Supporters want a clear concise tangible plan ahead…..sticking with a squad thats running last wont help their cause...regardless if its avoidable or not

True. The way he talks after every game is so dull no wonder people lose interest. every week its the same thing, apparently he is happy with mediocrity. You know what would create abit of interest? a press conference blowup every once in awhile. Heck even a 10,000 dollar fine here and there wouldn't hurt. Atleast the fans would get to see abit of passion shown from the coach. Anything is better then hearing how "we are improving" after every loss. There's nothing more disconnecting when the fans are all frustrated with the mediocrity and the coach comes out and says that every week.

I agree with everyone .
I have been to 2 games this year vs the Titans at Robina and Eels at Homebush .
At the start of the year i had planned to go to a few more games in Sydney but the feeling of
" we are a chance of winning Today " just don't get that anymore .

No joke the Mrs can't believe how relaxed and quiet i am during games these Days , i feel i have gone into this surrender mentality with my team and i don't like it . I want the Days where the Mrs says to me
" On Friday go and watch the game at the PUB you can't carry on like that in the house " ( screaming at the T.V , punching the Tiled floor ) .
Where as now i am mute , even when we score a Try i'm like cool we scored one , then i'm waiting for the opposition's comeback . :bawling

It is quite sad that we are in June and it feels like the Off Season is upon us already .

WESTS TIGERS CLUB , PLEASE READ THIS FORUM AND GIVE US SOME HAPPINESS BACK . WE ARE LOOSING OUR NEXT GENERATIONS OF FANS TO OTHER CLUBS AND CODES .

The thing is i want to be a lunatic again cause it tells me that we are right in the mix again.

I'm just glad i follow Leeds United cause they go hand in hand

Been a season ticket holder for 9 years now and agree with most in this thread. Never been less enthusiastic about this team than I have this season. After a solid start there has been very little to get excited about.

I think the toll of the last few years combined with the mediocrity of the club in general since our inception is just taking its toll.

Had to laugh at Tedesco's "we took them lightly" and Taylor's "we didn't prepare well" comments this week, what an absolute joke. We win one game and they now take teams lightly and don't prepare well. Just about sums up the entire club - never any sustained success, a flash in the pan here and there but when it comes to the crunch all they deliver is hot air.

Ink,refer to my post re; success, when the team start winning and gain consistency everyone will be happier..however the club could lose a substantial amount of fans and supporters in the mean time if they continue playing the way they have been and the coach keeps telling us we are improving…

Oh come on. Bennett and Cleary are hardly Mr Personality and they can still lead and motivate teams. Stuart, who shoots his mouth off at the drop of a hat, is widely considered here to be a douche.

It was clear we were not going to win the comp this year and even making the eight was going to be a stretch (although I thought we were a chance). Ideally we would all like to be more successful at a faster speed but I am prepared to accept that he has a plan and is "working hard" to implement it.

Overall, I enjoy hearing him articulate his vision and what he is trying to achieve. I will enjoy it more when it's implemented successfully. I was impressed with how he spoke about the timing of Cherrington's debut insofar that he needed the defensive structures sound enough to support him.

Being a longterm Tigers supporter I have learnt that whilst the season may be over to just take it game by game and hopefully a few wins will come our way.

It's threads like this I'm glad there aren't many "true supporters" on this forum. Leave that garbage to the casual supporters on facebook. Real supporters call it how they see it, and I'd say that's 98% of posters are on here.

Glad it's not just me.

I'm not fussed if I miss the game live.
I'm not fussed if we win
I'm not fussed if we loose.

I honestly think it's the post benji hangup. Love him or hate him he gave you something to talk about.

Wests don't have a "x factor" player anymore. We have plenty of plodders, a few solids and the rest are "gunna be greats"

The game style is boring. The players are boring. The coach is boring. I can handle boring when your winning but loosing and being boring is a recipe for disaster.

I think I really noticed the change when I wasn't excited about beating souths. I knew it was just a freak accident that would be undone the following week…enter manly game.

First time in a long time I didn't renew. Probably won't next season either.

Supporting the WT is like a roller coaster, isn't it Eddy. A lot of highs and steep descents.

What highs? Compare the feeling of a Tigers win to the NSW win the other week. Now that was actual joy. Haven't felt like that about the Tigers in ages. This is no roller coaster. A roller coaster goes up and peaks.

We must be damn crazy putting up with it, but wouldn't have it any other way.

Ummm… I'd have it EVERY other way....but we are apathetic fans (come on it's true). We feel that we are the ultimate blue collar team and should always be underdogs. This inferiority complex does not allow us to envisage ongoing success. So yes, we do put up with it and it is crazy. The Roosters, Broncos would never put up with it for even a few years. They demand success; their fans do, their management do, their coaches do. We don't. We just accept that we are forever in the first year of a 5 year plan. That's apathy.

But the hardest thing is trying to figure out what is going on within our club, and how to improve things. :supporter:

I honestly give up. On top of everything we have a "no marquee signings" policy for 2 years. Seriously WTF. We will be in the doldrums until we decide to get real and compete in the player market properly. Bringing up Juniors is cute but in order to get the fans back, start winning games and consistently recruit top players here we just need to sign 1-2 marquee players every year and build a culture of success. Until then we are bringing juniors into a culture of losing.

Usually i go for teams to get a result that will benefit the Tigers. This year I haven't even looked at the table to see who I want to win the other games. And I've even forgot that it's Tuesday evening twice and only seen our team the next day. Usually checking forum from 4.30pm onwards to see the team but hasn't even crossed my mind a couple of times.

gez sirro, things are getting bad and I absolutely know how you feel…following the great WTs this year devoids me of the enjoyment I used to feel about games that were coming up...but lets hang in there, things could brighten up sooner than later...

Ive done it a few times recently…..but for the opposite reason.
Checking who our fellow bottom rungers are playing, fearing they may leave us posted alone

I said this to ink in another thread, I think a lot of the apathy stems from having essentially overhauled the club, with minimal improvement on-field.

When Sheens was around, we copped bad form because we were generally getting better and desperate to escape the early WT years. When Potter came in, we hoped a breath of fresh air would eliminate the Sheens-type issues we had with toughness and persisting with ordinary players.

We have now overhauled the entire club from board, coach, staff, facilities… tapped a number of players on the shoulder.

And the end result is... same middle-table type results and inconsistency.

So it becomes hard to be super enthusiastic each week, when we are almost out of ideas of how to improve the club.

If we start winning, just watch the enthusiasm sky-rocket. Even after the Souths win there was a real peak in forum energy, but this cannot be sustained if you can't string good wins together.

Potter was getting results, even if they weren't all on the scoreboard. To have totally discarded everything he did and start from scratch was unnecessary and stupid. It's sent the club backwards for no reason.

Mate I'll hang in there, no choice really. Impossible to support someone else.
