Lets cut the crap - Madge needs to put the ego away and fess up that 5 captains was a huge mistake. Its quite obvious there is only one person in this squad who is even close to captain material. Just cut the rubbish and give Hastings the captaincy.

Thats ok - just keep reading the DT for your footy smarts. If you think having a winger who has never captained a side, is extremely shy and can hardly put 2 words together because of that shyness and has no media presence is a great choice for captain thats fine. Personally i would rather see someone who has rebuilt their life and football career after a pretty abysmal effort in the past. He may not be the best or the fastest or the toughest ( although could be argued ) player in the squad but for leadership he is miles ahead of anyone else in this sorry side.

When was the last time we had a good captain? Would have to be Farah. Woods was a joke, 5 captains under Cleary, Mbye, Tamou. What a clown show.

The high number of captains is not on Madge, the club organised and I assume paid for a highly qualified consultant to give advice on the number of captains we should have.
Not sure where the number came from, but I’m sure it could be supported with science.
The concept is designed specifically to foster leadership. The question of why it worked in round 1, but not in round 2, remains unanswered at this point.
