Surely AD goes to centre if the Hastings/ Brooks combo works.

douhie at centre solves that issue and we are stronger than we were

If that is the case let him go. We don't need players that are like that.

I don't think Doueihi is like that though.

I think Brooks and Hastings in the halves and Douhie has a blow up when he has to play in centres
Brooks and Hastings could be a very very good halves pairing

Agree.
Also between Hastings, Brooks, Laurie, Liddle, Doueihi (when he returns) and Peachey the team wouldn't be solely dependent on the halves to spark something.
It alleviates the pressure and adds more options and creativity, which isn't a bad thing at all

Lol how. Didn’t see one person happy with his defence when he played there

or Hastings plays the lock role
Peachey to centres
Brooks 7
Douhie 6

either way it will not be Douhie in the halves round 1

I hope the club addresses their massive problem that we've had for years... the centres.

Haven't had a legit one since Simona.

I'd like to see Ogden blooded 2022.

Jackson Hastings seems like the ultimate project player. Incredible talent, but not well socialised. No wonder he had a bit of a tough time in his first NRL stint.

All rugby league players at youth levels are drilled on character, and what character traits are required to make it as a professional rugby league player. He must have been missing a large number of those traits, therefore he didn't "fit in". My guess why he didn't have them - something to do with his old man.

I take it he has worked on himself as a person. Hopefully he has done enough mental health work to know not to accept the bad influences back into his life. Because that is always how a person like him regresses (too much trust in his friends, can easily be led astray).

Can't wait till he outplays Brooks in his first game and continues to do so for his entire time at the Tigers.

can't wait to see Hastings and Brooks fire and we win games and the meltdown on the Forum by some as Douhie comes back from injury and where to play him.

I just want Hastings to prosper in whatever role he fills and the unnecessary vitriol aimed towards Brooks to cease.

Douehi in the centres is not a bad thing IF the halves are goin well , he tends to overplay his hand somewhat , but he is going to learn and especially under the guidance of Madge

Brooks is in for a surprise ??good times are over Luke ! Time to get serious about reinventing yourself !

I think you and your ilk are the ones in for the surprise just quietly.

You reckon. To me Brooks gets a halves spot at the start of the year but he is going to be under pressure and if he doesn't perform he'll be gone.

I want Brooks punted but it's not happening. Madge loves him, made him captain, has never dropped him and he was voted player of the year by the coaching staff

They blindly love the bloke and continue to have faith him in and it's no surprise that we fail to make finals every year when they think like that

He will play 7 all year and stink it up unless there's a change of coach. This dumb club has a horribly unhealthy relationship with Brooks, they still think they can bring back that talented 20's player he once was.

I completely disagree. One thing Madge has shown is that he will sack anyone. I'm no Brooks hater. I've been labelled a Brooks supporter.

Madge and the club care about winning. I think they've signed Hastings to play an important role. I think Doueihi could get a halves spot. Brooks could easily be the odd man out.

Madge has never dropped Brooks, Mbye and Tamou despite them being some of our worst performers for months on end

He did drop Stefano, Seyfarth and other promising rookies who did very little wrong though.

I hope you're right mate but Madge has never shown he'll drop Brooks so far no matter how poor he's played. Same for Mbye and Tamou

Guess we will see what happens once Doueihi is back. While he's out I imagine it'll be Hastings and brooks in the halves

Think about it. If Madge was thing about dropping Brooks who would of he replaced him with, Madden? I don't think so.

Yep, didn't have much to replace him with, was only Madden or Docker-Clay.
Madden ended up getting a run at the end of the year and showed plenty of heart.
Now we have signed Peachey at lock it will be Brooks, Hastings and Doueihi (who said he wants to play five eighth) fighting it out for two spots in the halves.
Brooks to reggies for me to join Madden.... don't care much if he's been captain, player of the year or best lunch boy.
Hastings is the bloke we need next to Doueihi to inspire the team and drag them forward.
Sheens picked Hastings as captain in the international side he coached this year... must have some wraps on him.

Where Doueihi wants to play is irrelevant

Might be relevant when he seeks a release to take up the role at a different club.

Losing battle here defending your boy, Brooks.
Player of the year, voted by two former assistant coaches who have been sacked that he had to share the award with a first season rookie.

AD has been spoke about by many publicly about being the future of the club as well as the future captain.

Brooks on the other hand, slammed by multiple media personalities and punters from both the club fan base and the wider fan bases alike.

Yeah, he has two years left.
Hope the club isn't stupid enough to extend and will be looking to move him on a year early like they did Mbye if he doesn't perform.

Brooks sucks.

You’re the one fighting a losing battle. First you convinced yourself the club would shop him due to fan pressure. Wrong. Then you thought he, Noffa and Liddle would be shopped because you read one post that claimed they were anti-Madge and ran with it. Wrong again.

Even if AD sees himself as a 5/8, he played his best football this year in the centre’s. Plus, he looks like he’s gonna be out anywhere for 1-3 months once the season starts, so he’s not even in the conversation atm. And once he does come back, if the right balance is for him to slot in the centre’s, given how weak we are there, then that is what will happen. And if he spat the dummy and asked for a release as a result of that, then he’s not the person I thought he was and wouldn’t want him here. But he’s not going to do that. Just another fantasy hypothetical

It's embarrassing the club has backed him for so long with roster changes to benefit him and he still is just border line a mid level tier 7.

Brooks is a fraud.

Not sure why you're so staunch if defending him other than its edgey and against the grain but If it's what you find entertainment in doing, continue...

It'll go around in circles for as long as it has to because there's a clear majority response from the fans towards Brooks.

For the record though, I don't hate him. I hope he fires in 2022 and shows us all that the potential was always there and the years he was persisted with were worth it. I have my doubts, but this would he the best outcome despite how unrealistic I think it is.

Well I’m not sure why we are still even talking about him this long after the season has finished like it’s relevant. The only reason is cos his bashers can’t let it go and have a holiday.

It's going to be a long off season.
Hold tight.

Hoping Brooks reflects on the moment his own fans booed him off the field and during his interview, looks in the mirror and asked himself how he wants to be remembered.

2022, a make or break year for him... in my opinion.

Which game was that mate?

Doueihi out for the start of the season, we'll get a chance to see how Hasto goes in the halves. If Hasto sees himself as a halfback, he better have a good long kicking game like Reynolds or Moses. Hastings has a decent kick on him, but he's definitely a short-kicking specialist rather than a long range one unfortunately. Not terrible at longer ones though.

This is a wind up surely ? Best football of the year at centre ?! Bloke was nominated as top 5 five eighth in the Comp. don’t waste your time @Demps ?

Are you certain he polled all those points playing at 5/8?
Not a Doueihi thread but he best skill is his running game and playing off the back of that.
His worst is his defence, it is shocking at times for a big frame. I’d focus on him building more physicality in contact, with a knee injury there is nothing stopping him building his upper body even larger.

Interesting sees himself as 7

Well we won 2 games while he played centre and I’d say at the most he got 4 points from both. 5 tops

Brooks is a lay down to start the year at 7. Most likely it’s

6 Hastings
7 Brooks

That depends on what the plan is for Hastings. No one can know for sure till the trials. But I think he probably starts at 6. When AD gets back, he could slot into the centre’s.

Suggest
7 Hastings
6 Brooks

Both good blokes and talented players.
Very tired of the rubbish posts about Brooksy, at least he goes out there and has a go every week, better than the duds that we recently got rid of. Can't wait to see his confidence return again.
He is a good and strong defender and could spark the side and the backline if allowed to run.
Would like to see Nofa run straight and hard again.
Another passionate Wests Tigers player, like the the other two, but easy to pick off with his cross field running which is so predictable for the opponents.
We have a good pack and confident if tey work together we will improve big time.
Might be good to kick off all so called supporters who target certain players, don't think they are genuine supporters of our Club.t
Could be worth a trial and see how it goes.
We have nothing to lose.
We are a lot better that a 13th place team.
Bring back our Entertainers style like

If that is the case let him go. We don't need players that are like that.

I don't think Doueihi is like that though.

Don’t bet on it
