Exactly. I think I'm classified as a Brooks fan boy. I'd be stoked if Hastings comes over and takes his spot due to good form and winning games.

I agree. The only thing is you can move AD to the centres. To me he is such a good player you can play him in lots of positions.

I agree. The only thing is you can move AD to the centres. To me he is such a good player you can play him in lots of positions.

Even then moving him to centre means our best attacking player barely gets to touch the footy - it also exposes his weakness in defence much more. He has to stay at 5/8

Hastings arrival next year will push Brooks and Douehi to play better if Jock Madden isn't already. Brooks has played well this year but he has to push himself to reach that next level of his game. I'd say Hastings will wear the unofficial 13 which is the 14. 13 is just another prop in our team and I doubt that will change. Let's hope Hastings will blend in somewhere wherever that is and not just be another Josh Reynolds signing.

I get what you are stating and I like him at 6. I think you can move him though. I love him. If I'm a member of any fan boy club it's the AD club.

Does anyone know if this game was on Kayo. I want to watch it because I want to see Hastings play a whole game and see how he goes.

Im only suggesting this because,I did hear sometime ago the Daine is a 5/8 although Im pretty happy we have him at the FB this year..
Hastings has been playing FB over in ESL...
AD can improve over the preseason with his defense to play centre,he can do it.AJ showed centre is his position...
Laurie may surprise us as a 5/8...

Just a thought and it does look a good spine and backline...

Laurie will be vying for rookie of the year. Why change what is working well? Brooks has been outstanding and importantly his combination with Doueihi (who has also for the most been outstanding) has been a revelation. In a season of mediocrity, why wouldn't the possibility of two juniors performing so well in critical backline positions excite not only supporters but club officials? why would you wish to break up that combination? I'd say there'd be quite a few clubs eyeing off this combination. With Pauga, Kepaoa, Talau emerging the WTs are getting a little traction in backline positions.

We should be aiming higher than Hastings. It’s depressing that people are ok with his signing. I guess it shows how used to mediocre signings supporters have become.

I think that is a good start. It gives you the option of trying a whole bunch of different options with Brooks, Laurie, AD and Hastings in the halves, fullback and centres.

We should be aiming higher than Hastings. It’s depressing that people are ok with his signing. I guess it shows how used to mediocre signings supporters have become.

I don't know about this. I think our past marquee signings have been complete duds. I don't think Hastings will be a marquee signing in relation to dollars so maybe he performs.

I don't consider AD or Luc marquee signings and they have both killed it for us.
