the only thing i am confident about is the squad we have for 2022 will result in a dejavu season regardless of who is coaching and who is wearing the 7.

I think he can play football. However the thread title is Brooks v Hastings and in my opinion Brooks is a better halfback than Hastings.

Having said that I do actually think he needs to be moved on.

I don’t think we are going to make the 8 next year neither, I will be very surprised if we finish higher than we did this year unless we buy 2 centres, a winger, a lock, a prop, a second rower and some impact off the bench. I don’t think our problem is the no7.

I get that you and a number of members don’t like Brooks, but my point and opinion is we have bigger problems than Brooks he is not the weak link he is just one of the only players that has been here through out this shitty period. In that shitty period we did not have a competitive squad nor did we have consistent coaching.

I like cars so I gave a car analogy we’re losing the race because our car is underpowered and we are complaining about the size of the steering wheel.

This is largely true. I think Brooks listens to the noise too much. He has the excuses in his head because we have all been feeding them to him pretty much his whole career. He is not a player for where we are at, he needs to go somewhere where his team mates expect him to lift to meet the standards of the team - instead of the mindset that he is the best player in a poor team mentality that has been driven here.

Brooks will never develop his game any further until he grows a pair and starts acting like a man on and off the field.

He's very likeable because he puts in effort (most of the time) and he doesn't upset anyone (except people who want to win games), but unless he develops an open and confident personality thay quiet character will forever stall his career.

He should go and join a bikie gang for while, I cant think of any legal equivalents, but something to bring out a dangerous streak in him that dares him to take chances on the field.

His quiet persona is a cancer to the current team. When things are running smoothly it's inconsequential, but when things get difficult on the paddock, his personality doesn't fill the rest of the team with confidence or inspiration and it shows.

The NRL is a ruthless machine, and it is no place for people who want to be quiet and personal, the only way those people manage is with displays of raw and unique talents. I wish him all the best and hope he finds his mojo somewhere, but unless he undergoes a full boy to man transformation in the next few months, it won't be here.
