Funny isn't it, the guy has been here for an off season and two games and he's already the most suited to captain the side. It would be a hell of a lot better than having the five captain merry-go-round.
That decision has given me less confidence in the coaching and direction at the club.

The coach will be the first gone, but there is not much ticker or smarts to work with for any coach who takes it on. Errors an inability to execute fundamentals in a game all falls on the players. The performance reflects a team that fields the best of a bad lot, with not much else to choose from. They are wooden spoon favourites with many for a reason. Expecting a consistent inconsistent season no matter who survives and who doesn't.

Ha ha, for a slowish bloke he certainly can make a line break. I think Hastings has 3 LB this season and the entire side has about 6?

I said that and I stick by it.
He has now played for us and he should be captain. He has shown more ability and steel under pressure in 2 games and 1 trial than players that have been here for years.

The slow comments are pretty funny right. It's the same as Doueihi being slow. It's right but those guys are clearly our best attacking players and it's by miles.

Flavour fo the week? A couple of teams did it. Worked a treat for us.
Hastings facing a 2 week suspension if he pleads guily or 3 weeks if he challenges and fails.Needless to say but he was charged with a higher offence than anyone else.It was a poor tackle and he deserves to be suspended but as always the charges seem to be higher for some clubs than others

Should have just broken someones legs in a cannonball and paid the fine instead. Hopefully he will know better next time.

The tackle was bad and he nearly did it later in the game as well. He should take the 2 weeks and work on his defensive technique.

I am not defending him he deserves to be suspended for the tackle, it is just inconsistencies and percieved bias in charges that always annoys me.

The first two tries came from Hastings. Rather than competing for the ball he tried to block the attacker. No ball, no try. The other try at least he went for the ball but his first half was diabolical.

Are you guys serious ? Lol ? Hastings wasn’t bad to start the game for starters . His fullback was out of position twice which is what your alluding to.
And B , whilst he played well , if anything else it reinforces the idea that he is 💯 a lock , as he is not fast enough or offer enough dynamism to be a 6 in the NRL .
But are we just going to overlook his edge and Lucy on the other edge , having a holiday for 2 tries because the ball was going to go to the kicker for the cross field kick …. Only it didn’t ?
Our issue , is mental . Guys just switch off for periods constantly . Brooks included .
Hastings is a footy player . But he’s not a half . And I’m off Brooks as well .
Adam Clune made him look bad today . And Laurie needs to be dropped more than anyone . He was still skateboarding in the riff yesterday . Cause he didn’t show up in Newcastle .

I also can’t believe Tieg Wilton, got suspended for making a full tackle on Moses, wrapped his body up and everything and gently laid him down.
What are you supposed to the kickers, just run up to them and stand in front of them?

Looks like he has a two week holiday do the experts still want to punt Brooks?
That kick that went long which Frizell scored on could of been easily marked by Mamalo. There was a shot where he was walking back into the in goal as you see the kick in the air coming in.
His not alone in effort and maybe played injured.
But you contrast that to the final play in last nights game where Albert Kelly runs 60m across and downfield to provide extra cover at the goal line and ends up scooping up a grubber kick.
Effort plays that not one player in our team would have the attitude to pull off
