Have you moved on to support the Weststigers

Without doubt yes, from day one I knew you had to leave the Balmain/Wests thing behind and embrace this new club and that is what I did.

I just cant believe these dinosaurs we have running the club just dont get it, we are not Wests and we are not Balmain, I dont care where the money is coming from, we are the WestsTigers. Maybe we have to drop the Wests and the Tigers and re brand ourself with a name that has no connection with past, because the club will come crashing down if we continue like we are now.

Please someone show some leadership and eradicate the factions

I would struggle to support a totally rebranded club after 44 years of supporting Balmain and the Wests Tigers

I was and still am in some way a Magpie, saying this because I fully understand even Balmain supporters will always have it in their veins to check lower grade and respective junior rep side scores. After all many of us have these pre merger origins.
When we merged I accepted Balmain and the 50/50 on offer.
I felt the pride in winning the comp in 05.
I accepted Balmain Supporters like a Magpie.
I accepted we were one.

In all honesty, getting on forums like this gave me a negativity towards supporters from the other side of the Merger. The smart ass comments, the bias, the get over it.

Overall I love the Wests Tigers, they are my team now and forever. I want Balmain to remain in the same level of control as from day one. I know I always want the Magpies to be equal par.

To all the good people. Go the Wests Tigers.

2050 will be the time to ask a question when most original Balmain & Wests fans will be passed on.. We all support WT (thats why we are here posting)

We follow WT because most of us followed Balmain & Magpies..

WT is here to stay.. Its not dissolving…

Accepting WT as the new team - Simple, Balmain & Magpies no longer in NRL

Business wise (WT ownership) & Junior Areas (clubs to h matts to sg ball) WT are tied into many stakeholders with operating groups that exist in 2013 (14 years after WT being formed)

- Wests Ashfield Leagues
- Wests Campbelltown Leagues
- Wests Junior League
- Balmain Junior League
- Wests Magpies Football Club
- Balmain Football Club
- Balmain Leagues Club
NSW cup arrangements and strips

Also Traditions - Leichhardt Oval (Balmain tradition) and wests brand identity (magpie on sleeve or on the side of Ashfield leagues) are part of the WT umbrella in 2013

Forcing all above parties above to dissolve or re-brand wont be happening anytime soon..

Its not a crime to show your support for balmain and wests via WT nor does it mean you support WT any less..

i stopped watching rugby league in 2000 and 2001 after following balmain for over 25 years.
started watching again in 2002 and fully embraced the wests tigers.
the last 3 years have seen my interest in the nrl drop to new lows.
haven't watched origin in over a decade.
even in 2011 nrl had become my least interesting football code.

The Magpies will always have a place in my heart, but I am now a Wests Tigers supporter for life.

WT for me.

If they are forced to merge again/relocate/hand in their license, I'll be done with Rugby League for good.

As for the board: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5DmYLrxR0Y8

This. Even worse is my kid is 6 and just getting into sport. It's hat to convince him wt is his team when they play so badly. If they don't sort out the board and keep wests tigers they will lose at least 3 generations from my family to nrl.

They're pretty close already

Last time I looked there wasn't a Balmain or Western Suburbs in the NRL

So my answer is YES to Wests Tigers

My 6yo is coping okay with our NRL form this year, thanks largely to the reserve grade and U20s.

Its easy to say for ones self.

I'd like others to offer their opinion based on my posts if they think I have.
I'd like to think I have.

I read many posts of many here and I think many havent.

Copy & paste please and add to your post:
I think ink has not accepted/accepted the WTs

Not having a go at you, i swear to god but i need to know if you are serious?

If that's what you honestly believe?

I think you have one of the strngest anti-balmain biases of anyone on these forums apart from GNR4life.

Agree 10000%
But you get shot down in flames for saying it!

who on this forum has the ear of MR Mayer, maybe he could send all this to the board to show them that the average supporter has moved on and we now all support the weststigers.

I usually steer clear of wests Balmain topics.
But I have been vocal on a few issues…the colours mainly (we have three- its important to me, maybe not to others) one or two other issues.

This isnt anti balmain, ( it might be to you) to me, its pro wests tigers

I posted in this thread earlier and my comment has been removed.. Why?

Guessing because I said 'No'. Is or isn't this a forum for discussion?

Pathetic.

I forgot to add that despite being dragged kicking and screaming, Ink is for Wests Tigers as well, just joking about the kicking and screaming Ink but I'm sure you are also a true believer.

Thank you cunno…..I was very very distant for the first 2 or 3 years of the merge...attended few games though maintained an interest in the team thru the media.

Was a tough period personally too for other reasons which also contributed to my little interest then.

But since then its just been like a natural evolution....Ive quit smoking and given the booze away so I need something to replace all that - just as damaging to ones health  go the tigers

:sign:

I was the opposite to Ink. I really got behind the merge for the first couple of years but after 2005 I have become a little distant. Not entirely sure why, whether I miss the Maggies or whether Rugby League bores me to death these days. Probably a bit of both.

It's so boring and predictable. I now tape any game I have monetry involvement with and fast forward through the first 3 plays
of each set. I fast forward scrums and penalty goals. I can watch a game in 35 mins now.

Does anyone else find it that boring? There's no square ups, no passion, just a bunch of fit players all wearing their tough stickers proudly praying they don't get hit hard as they are all made of glass.

I loved my Magpies back in the day, but would absolutely spew if we ever went back to those days, throwing away the last 15 years.

When I was a kid I was the only Magpies supporter I knew. Now i spend most weekends with my mates, all former Balmain supporters. The merger was kind to me.

I think the smokes may be better for the health then WT

Yes been thinking of taking them back up again lately and quitting rugby league instead!

It took me a little while to warm to the merger when it first happened, but after 14 years it's difficult not to be totally behind Wests Tigers - I know my heart and emotions are now fully engaged in supporting them, so it's a big yes for me. I must admit, though, I still really miss the Magpies sometimes - 35 years of supporting a particular team it's not that easy to extricate yourself from them totally.

On Ink, I think the passion of his posts shows us that he is very much a WT fan these days. Although, I suspect that, like me, he may still hold a flame for the Magpies somewhere in his heart
