Hayne quits NFL

Im pretty sure Parramatta can squeeze him in under their cap. They're great with these kind of things.

Maybe Parramatta can borrow the Roosters Salary Sombrero to fit Hayne in!!

Good on him, i would love to experience playing in the NRL, NFL, Origin, Olympics and whatever he decides to do next.

Not many people have the opportunity to achieve all the goals they dream of, hes one of the minors that do have that opportunity.

Good luck jarryd and hopefully he will wear a WT jersey when he comes back to the NRL.

1\. Tedesco
6\. Hayne
7\. Littlejohn
9\. Ballin

Moses and Brooks free up 1.2 mil
Farah 900k

Give 1.1 to Hayne
Upgrade Ted to 800k from his current 500k

Leaves us with a fair bit to spend on the rest of our squad although im more likely to win the lotto than to ever see that happen…

(not my financial figures, going offf what i read)

All very convenient isn't it

Hayne leaves the club to follow his "dreams"

Parra finally go under with the salary cap issues which he had helped cause

Then within a week of it all going down he leaves the NFL to try and play a sport he can't play do to the PED's risk

2017 he'll be at the Roosters , mark my words

Its time the fans took the game back

Protest , stop going to games that feature the known salary cap cheats

mate this bloke could of played for Fiji in the next Olympics. Just lost a little respect for him. He should of stuck it out this season and see what happens.
Looks like we are going to make a play him????
Only joking, i agree he will be lining up for Roosters next year

Why would you lose respect for him?
He's done what very few sportsmen would be able to do, or even get the chance to do
He's played in the Nfl, which is what he wanted to do, earned a lot of respect there , particularly, from those who know how hard it is to just make their squads ,let alone get on the field
Now he wants to go to the Olympics, good luck to him,
You gotta admit, it's not a bad life

GCT - the reason is he would be able to play for Fiji at the next Olympics but he had an opportunity to show the world what he could do in Year 2 in NFL. If he stuck the 2nd year out, he would of proved to everyone that he wanted a career in the NFL. Maybe saying losing respect is a little harsh but i just wanted him to do well in his 2nd Year in the NFL. Just disappointed that he didnt see it out.

The writing was obviously on the wall that he was going to be cut so to save face to the RL public he ''retired''. Can't blame him, no point in wasting another yr stuffing around on another Franchises practice squad. Just come home and do what you excel at. Lol @the Olympic dream

It's going to be great this yr watching the NFL without having to hear the crap about Hayne. Go Philly!!!!

Hayne will go to union and why wouldn't,t he…will make more money looked after like a god does not get bashed every week..World Cup dual international .Why the hell would he come back to the NRL already done every thing what to play at PARRA stadium think not he has bigger fish to fry IMO.

Well said Milky.
its easy for people to be jealous of someone else who has the courage to move out of their comfort zone and set different goals. what he has done may only be fully understood by those around the NFl.
Not many , who havent got a background in the sport. could do what he did in one season. AND THE yanks have acknowledged that.
who cares why hes doing something different?
its his life.good on him for backing his ability. I hope hes sucessful at whatever he wants to do

I may be wrong (wouldn't be the first time) but doesn't WADA require all Olympic athletes to be in the testing pool for 6 months prior to the games?

Believe that you are 100%correct. He jumped before he was pushed. Would suggest that his next dream is Union in Japan or Europe. Wherever he can push his marketing and make some money. I will give credit to him, to play a single NFL game was an amazing achievement

If we signed him Taylor would have him playing prop in the Reggies

Retired from NFL….
Lol, sounds like a real thing.

= Unwanted / not good enough (better than me) for the NFL.

Hayne says unaware of 'secret deals'
By AAP

Former Parramatta superstar Jarryd Hayne says he knows nothing about receiving off-the-record payments of nearly $500,000 when he was at the NRL club.

New revelations in an NRL breach notice against the Eels reportedly show the club secretly arranged almost $500,000 in deals for the NFL convert since 2013.

Official documents and boardroom minutes show a trail of salary cap discrepancies in the star fullback's third party deals with the club from 2013 to 2015, News Corp reported on Tuesday.
They allegedly include cash payments, first class overseas travel and car expenses adding up to $465,000, all hidden from the NRL.

When asked by reporters about the "secret deals" in London on Monday, Hayne joked about the amount. "Half a million, wow, must have been the wrong bank account. I haven't seen it." When asked if he was aware of any off-the-record payments, Hayne replied: "Not that I'm aware of, no". Hayne said the Eels' salary cap scandal was sad and disappointing when the side was doing so well, "not only finals-bound but top four bound". "Us players have no idea what goes on behind closed doors."

He said the players' duty was to go out and play and he had put his trust in his manager and the people who ran the club. "I'm an athlete, not a manager." Hayne's manager, Wayne Beavis, also denied the reports. "On the press reports there is a lot of the content contained in it relating to Jarryd that is factually incorrect," Beavis told Sky Sports Radio. The revelations follow Hayne's surprise news on Monday that he was quitting the San Francisco 49ers and n NFL career to chase Olympic gold with Fiji's Rugby Sevens team.

Third-party payments to players must be done on an arm's length basis from the club and it's a breach of salary cap rules if a club makes a payment on behalf of third parties.

The audio tapes from meetings also indicate that current board member Tanya Gaidel asked Steve Sharp whether the club was participating in fraudulent activities to provide third-party payments to 2015 recruit Anthony Watmough.

There is no suggestion Hayne or Watmough were aware their payments were contrary to NRL rules, or that either had done anything wrong.

The supposed NFL dream must have turned to a daydream. Which NRL club can muster the biggest behind the scenes payment now for this guy? Sick of seeing him in the media to be honest

In the statement, World Rugby said Hayne did not have to have been in a testing pool for a period of time to be eligible for tournaments as he was effectively being treated as a new player, not a retired player returning to the game.

Only requirement is that he makes himself available immediately for testing.
