Well-placed sources at the embattled club have revealed there have been talks between senior figures, who are pushing for Burgess to either stand down or be removed from his position.

It comes after this masthead revealed fans’ concerns over his alleged Instagram activity, specifically that his handle — wildmandenny — follows more than 200 accounts belonging to adult content creators featuring risqué photos and links to more explicit content.

Burgess did not respond when this masthead reached out for comment to see whether his account had been hacked. This masthead also contacted him for comment.

As such can we assume that Burgess, Stapleton and Montgomery were ok with the level of orange on the new Jersey?

I’m about to go on a passionate fired up rant. But as an old Magpie myself I cannot fathom how some of us old blokes would rather sit here and hang on to an old club that hasn’t existed for over 25 years then get behind one that exists today. @BZN @Bus 2 Terrigal You both are a disgrace to Magpie legends like Tommy who were behind the joint venture from day 1 and celebrated this club openly & proudly. Do you guys agree with the actions of Wests Ashfield that are driving away young fans in droves including @tigahhh @WesternSuburbsBoy on here? All because of what some old man ego & pride? Shane Richardson is the best administrator the game has ever seen and it was thrown away because our boys couldn’t swallow their pride & follow through with something that they agreed too. I am actually ashamed to be a Western Suburbs Magpies fan at the moment & I never thought i’d say that because they were such a big part of my early life just like Wests Tigers are for my kids & many kids in Sydney. I will be attending the rally on Saturday with my kids in my Magpies gear not as a show of division but as a sign of unity that me the Magpie is fully behind the Wests Tigers. I want to see Shane Richardson & the independent board reinstated & I want to see the Wests Tigers prosper long term.

I cancelled a membership mid year a while back.. they would only do it once i returned my dodgy shit merch . HAHAH.. can you believe that.

It’s been said plenty of times in last 248 pages, but I can’t stress enough this is about our club the Weststigers, not the Magpies or the Tigers. The HBG want to divide and conquer and while the factional fighting goes on they are a real chance of success. So everyone has to unite for the common cause and forget about Balmain and Wests and do everything they can to get their voices heard that they are fighting for the Weststigers
