HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

He'll be sacked. And don't think for a second he'll be out of a job for long.

Yeah he deserves better

He has shown, at the minimum, that he can be quite influential in turning a clubs culture around and having a positive influence on the environment and moral.

If I was in his position, I would walk. There is no way our club lifts this year which is an absolute shame given the amount of effort that went into the rebuild

I will say in fairness to Darcy, I don't know him personally, but I have no doubts he's a legitimate serious supporter. @cochise or one of the podders could also chime in because they've spoken with him.

I see Darcy regularly at home games and he's also often watching matches at the club; never seen him do this in his capacity as mayor, always dressed casually and keeping to himself.
I've got no problem with the bloke.

I'm more giving a "either way" argument to those that doubt his intention.

If there's cynicism, fine, but we are benefiting just as much as he is.

Personally, my view is he's a genuine supporter and takes issue with 20 people having unaccountable control over 27,000 paying stakeholders...it's a fair cause any way you slice it.

If WTRLFC manages to prise itself away from Wests Ashfield, and there is a new board and governance structure, I hope Wests Ashfield, Wests Magpies, and Balmain have absolutely no representation from these old cronies from their respective organisations.
Agreed. Terrible behaviour from so called professionals. I'm an old Wests supporter but I embrace WT as a JV and left Wests to State Cup and Juniors willingly.

It will need a new constitution which should be agreed to by members so don't chuck your membership just yet.

Just playings devil advocate

Shouldn't the angst be directed at West Ashfield? How is that done?

For example, shouldn't people be cancelling their Wests Ashfield memberships first? Or not visitng the joint? Or write to to supporters of Wests Ashfield voicing disgust. Any other ways. How do you change the governance of Wests Ashfield?

If people want to cancel Wests Tigers memberships and not turn up at games, who is that hurting? It hurts the Wests Tigers more then Ashfield.

The players, coach Wests Tigers board, Cambo, sponsors want to see us supporting them.

I'm not suggesting, the supporters don't voice their frustrations somehow but what's the most constructive?

They give us no levers at all at HBG.

So we will use every strategy we have.

I have a very good relationship with Darcy, he is a politician no doubt but he does have a love of the club and is standing up for what he believes in. Wests Ashfield I believe is in his electorate so his public support of this does show he is willing to stand up for the club.

Marshall is literally the last man standing in terms of being able to influence the playing group and prospective recruits. He must surely be reflecting on what has happened. The absence of a statement from the Club to its members/supporters and sponsors does not auger well for the future. I am sure other clubs and player managers are busy. I don't know whether to be appalled, heartbroken or a mix of both
