HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

It’s not Tigers or Magpies that’s the problem, it’s geriatrics.
Like I keep saying it is the rot of “magpies” as a concept that is the problem . And the longer these people have hope , and thier narcissism takes hold , where they’re willing to turn everything on its head to appease an ever dwindling extreme minority , the continuation of these shenanigans will happen . Kill off thee “magpies “ as a concept .. as Balmain as a concept has been killed off , and all this shit goes away .
It is a sickness that is rotting away the club. We cut out the Balmain tumour , now we need to radioactively kill the magpies cancer .
Because as the days and weeks and years go on , if it stays like this “magpies” will be a word that instantly provokes thoughts of hate and associations of negativity in just about anyone south of 50.

Most Wests Tigers supporters have jumped to the conclusion that this whole situation has come about due to the 2026 home jersey being mostly orange and assuming it is a step in trying to eliminate the Balmain side of the merger.
This is supposedly based on various quotes of previous conversations with Dennis Burgess and backed up this morning by Lee Hagipantellis.
Contrary to this belief is the public statement made yesterday by Daniel Paton who emphasised there is no agenda against the Balmain side of the merger and stated they poor money into the Balmain juniors, they are not obligated to do this if they dislike the Balmain side of the merger so much.
Paton went on to state the big issue that led to the independent board members being removed was lack of disclosure on things that are supposed to be reviewed and passed at board level.
My understanding is these topics include the ComBank Stadium deal, the 2026 jersey reveal amongst a host of other things.
It’s fine for any fan to say why does the board need to know about these things, but the truth is these type of things, particularly the ComBabk Stadium deal would be discussed and approved at board level by any club, just the same as any business needs big agendas to be passed at board level.
It’s since been rumoured that Barry O’Farrell approved these things and believed him being chairman of the board meant he could give approval without it being raised or voted on by the board.
Common sense tells us all that if this is true, it is not right and has the possibility of dodgy dealings being done.
There has been plenty of comments stating the HBG board members would have known what was going on, well it’s likely they didn’t know anything about it if O’Farrell was making executive decisions without presenting them to the board.
Something to think long and hard about before we jump to conclusions.

Ive said it before and I'll say it again, if its the logo / emblem thats the problem, Tigers / Magpies- just remove that friction and become something new, whilst acknowledging both original Tigers & Magpies with equivalent shoulder flashes. Dunno what though Im sure people can come up with options. Yonks ago I suggested 'bushrangers' as a neutral, new name.
Everyone follows the wests tigers . No one is following the bush rangers . The fates are sealed .

Central Coast Tigers lol
We've discussed it 😉

Great idea.

Shit name though.

Bushrangers? Pathetic.

You may as well call them the Malcolm Nadens. Too soon?

V, you’re so much smarter than this …. they are acting in their own self-interest not for the betterment of the club

There are HBG people on the WT board… what are they discussing when they meet with O Farrel and the rest of the board ?

You’re wrong . It was discussed . There’s 2 HBG reps in the tigers board . It’s thier job to Liaise back with HBG , especially considering one of them is the HBG chairman. If there’s a lack of communication it’s because he hasn’t been fulfilling his function correctly .
As for the jersey being the reason . Most know that it is not the jersey but rather the wests tigers board , has been becoming increasingly bolden to distance itself from the HBG( probably because of all the bullshit ) with putting KPIs to have autonomy to govern itself . This is the real reason . The HBG wants full control of this asset it doesn’t really give a shit about .

V, you’re so much smarter than this …. they are acting in their own self-interest not for the betterment of the club
So if you were pouring millions of dollars into a business annually and were then not informed about big decisions, would you be happy ?

The rumour is Barry O’Farrell was giving approval on major decisions without them being presented to the board.
If it’s not presented to the board, how were they to know about it ?

Sounds very dodgy to me.

Sounds like you just jumped to a few conclusions there. HBG have reps on WT Board.
