In theory if it was 1995 and SL was going then HBG would have power . But now it’s the nrl , and they are the only game in town , and own all thier licenses , once the license has been removed , sure HBG owns wests tigers the club , but what is that worth if they’re not apart of the nrl ? Zero . Less than zero , because of all the overheads . They could double down and say , fine we will run the wests tigers … but think about how much money they would have to payout to employees and bills . They’d have 2 options . Fold the club and right it off for tax as a loss , and get horses heads turn up next to thier pillow … or sell it.Who has more money, HBG or NRL?
And can the NRL make it hard for them, like force them to relocate etc?
The license would probably then go to someone like easts tigers the club moves to Brisbane … and these 25 years are a bad memory .
