I'm surprised the Daily Tele hasn't published a story yet. Usually if the rival masthead SMH publishes a big story, they are quick to do the same. Can only hope Brent Read has an exclusive & positive story!

As sad as this situation has become, if you’re playing pokies at Ashfield or buying a membership then you’re part of the problem. It’s such a shame that good people have to do this stuff to get some action Joel.As much as it hurts the club and players, we may need to boycott WT en masse to get any action.
Richo would be holding his cards very close to his chest rn, if anything positive is gonna come out it’ll be from PVD’s actions leading to richos returnI'm surprised the Daily Tele hasn't published a story yet. Agree. HBG get away with it. IMO The only way NRL step in is when the reputational damage starts to effect the brand. We aren't there yet. Maybe empty stadiums, player and sponsor walkouts would move things along a bit?Do the NRL have any power to act in this case?
I don't want this post to come across pro HBG in any way simply asking the question.
The NRL didn't appoint the 'independent' board, HBG did. They did so to manage their interests. If they aren't happy they have every right to move that board on.
I believe when the NRL has stepped in in the past is only when clubs have gone into voluntary administration due to not meeting their financial commitments. This is not the case here. So, do the NRL actually have any power to intervene?
I'm hoping Marshall walks and takes both May boys, Luai and Bula with him. If it's imploding let it implode properly. Maybe then the N.R.L will finally do something. As much as it hurts the club and players, we may need to boycott WT en masse to get any action.
Yeh, I suppose the 1st couple of paragraphs are satire, but only in the sense of using humour which has a slightly sharp edge to it.This is satire, right?
And, just so you know, I wasn't the mod who put you on a 48hr ban. Please stop implying that I have some vendetta against you. Please stop following my posts. Honestly, it's weird.
Unless someone goes full "the whitlams" those pokies will continue to be played. Don't think the clientele know or care who Benji Marshall is unfortunatelyAs sad as this situation has become, if you’re playing pokies at Ashfield or buying a membership then you’re part of the problem. Just out of curiosity how have people gone getting refunds on memberships? As much as it hurts the club and players, we may need to boycott WT en masse to get any action.
Yeah even then, if HBG are paying their bills I still expect nothing from the NRL.Agree. HBG get away with it. IMO The only way NRL step in is when the reputational damage starts to effect the brand. We may need a class action to get our money back...Just out of curiosity how have people gone getting refunds on memberships?
I’ll be cancelling mine today. If HBG want to continue to run the club into the ground they can fund it themselves. They won’t get another cent from me till that clown show is gone.
Does anyone know one of those bryden lawyers? We may need a class action to get our money back...
Happy to be involved with one
I'm assuming they would as the article stated yesterday Vlandys was considering appointing an N.R.L administrator, if there were no grounds he wouldn't be able to consider it, I believe there were also breaches by HBG with the way the directors were stood down according to an article posted a few days ago, though I think the only ones who could pursue that would be the directors themselves in the courts which would be costly for a voluntary position which they prob wouldn't do. Who cares though, HBG do whatever they want when they want with their play thing, why bother with the rules. Do whatever needs to be done to get it done.Do the NRL have any power to act in this case?
