HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

"I don't know the finer details of it, but I know for a fact this is what happened."

Fact? You were part of it? Or Chammas reported it?
Lol nah, you have to take my word on it.. I'll PM you.

I've been a little flippent regarding the rally- true. I admire those going. In truth. I don't admire being told that if you don't go, you don't care/should be banned etc. I know it was only a small portion of those going that suggest that sort of thing- but the 'rage' is, in my opinion, over the top & not doing the cause any good.
Yeah the overly aggressive nature of some is just passion + uncontrolled emotion... Don't hate on em.. they mean well

Throw rocks ? Very emotive

I’m disagreeing with the argument made by HBG to blow up this club ( the one you support) which you defended …it didn’t stand up to the slightest scrutiny at any time and now has completely disappeared never to be seen again whilst they reinstate the people originally dismissed ..i don’t see how they could have admitted their error any more transparently

if that was me that took that postion, I would be embarrassed and certainly wouldn’t continue defending them
That's the thing- there was no scrutiny. Who got an answer on the reason HBG did this in the first place?

The NRL go in- everyone figures that this would fix it- and the result was a compromise to bring back some of the old board, but give HBG control & Richo isn't part of it?

Now YOU see this as an embarrassing slap in the face to HBG. Fair enough. It might be.

I see this & think- how did the NRL get involved, but HBG came away with what they wanted? What did HBG tell the NRL? And why was Richo specifically not part of the compromise?

Going back- is this partly to do with the allegations at the time?

So my questions are now- was Richo doing what HBG were complaining about all along & not passing on vital information to the owners?

It's not a conspiricy. It's wanting to understand.

He seems to think this is about placating balmain fans

Its not

Its just some BS to appeal to the geberal RL public that hes done something
Yes, getting the indies re-instated is a step, theres much more to do.
I think he thinks his job is done and this will be the last we hear from him.
The leaks will resume...the instability will increase
i doubt very much PVL lets hbg pulls this stunt ever again.
On face value their is nothing they, Nrl L G etc'. can do
No doubt he stated his claim, fools won't be tolerated,
Licenses for participation are up for renewal soon ,as is the broadcasting rites.
Should equate to a couple of years of above sanity how this club normally runs

As an fyi from a very reliable source, the plan all along was for SM to take over from Richo. They expected it to take place at the end of Richos contract though, not like this
Yes, he was brought in for that role. Thr reason he was moved to gm of football was to broaden his skillset

I've not hated on anyone.

Everyone has a story.

No need to PM unless you want to- happy to take your word for it.

The end result is not the argument you were making beforehand though …you tried to argue HBG’s actions to dismiss the board were justified when even Stevie Wonder could see otherwise…

If they were trying to play out some Machiavellian outcome to get rid of Richo and get a majority on the board …whilst returning the independent members .,,that’s not what you were saying before… and are these the people you want to support running this club ?

BZN (and the likes of you) are the exact representation of the problem with this club, whereby, due to your misguided loyalty to a brand that is deceased as far as the NRL is considered. You would blindly support and an ownership/administration with a debenture structure that is not held accountable for all the failures that have occurred under their watch.

I don’t know you nor do I care to know you but you strike me to be a person that is satisfied with a participation certificate for all.

I’m in it to win it, I don’t care much for participation recognition.
especially when that award is a smack on the bum with a wooden spoon

As it stands now, HBG has control, this is the mob who had the keys during our decade of horror. On top of that they have sent our best ever CEO packing. So the question I ask, why should the members and fans be happy with the events of today.

Personally I see this as all damage control by both HBG and PVL with he hope they can fool the punters into thinking everything is now resolved. I would not trust HBG for one second

Not really. If that is the way it was understood so be it.

I simply (or maybe not simply in hindsight) put out alternative viewpoints to the rage & bile that exploded on here.

Nobody was questioning the why of it.

Hardly anyone is now.

What did we miss?

Why are 'thousands of fans' marching/rallying/wearing toga's on Saturday?

Wests Tigers plays an important part of my life. Sadly. And watching things like this happen bother me.

Unlike some, instead of throwing things- I want to know why.

And trusting the words of former board members, outgoing CEO's & reporters doesn't exactly fill me with confidence.

So I bury deep & try to understand it.

If you want to throw rocks- throw them.

People address things that matter in different ways.
The Chad, where do you think the club would be if everyone simply sat back, calmly questioned why things have unfolded and then went on with their lives? If you were happy with the status-quo with HBG before the independent board then that is the obvious point of difference between you and most here.

You are so quick to denigrate the people who will march, but it is those people who I think have pushed Vlandys along and actually prove this club means something to the rest of the NRL, something I believe Benji and the players can actually tap in to.

Its also those people who allow you to take the JAQing off (just asking questions), apathetic position you have taken.
Where do I think we would be?

Same place we are now.

And after the rally?

Same place we are now.
