Burgess doesn't have a musical history to talk about. He's a coat tail rider and can barely play music or sing. Honestly he is god awful. He has no real career in music to speak of. He's got all these little side hustles with grand names like 'The Australian Songwriting Association", but its mostly just a front end for his grassroots pub rock open mic nights. (He's chairman and his wife is CEO... of course) It's not like he founded the Aria's and he's handing out awards to Kevin Parker and Parcels and rubbing shoulders with the likes of Matt Gudinski and Kyle Sandilands....

Maybe we make an organisation called the 'Australian Western Suburbs Magpies association' and I'll make my Dog CEO and get Ray Cashmere to act at Chair. We can make an MS DOS website for it. He was a magpie off the bench for 2 games in 1999 so that matches up with the dizzing heights of denny's career being the backing musician for Tiny Tim, and having one of his songs played in a few cinemas before ghostbusters was screened in Sydney in the 80s

He was only technically in the Masters Apprentices for a couple of months, and that was after the real band had broken up and he and his brother tried to revive the name with other musos. They recorded a (terrible) demo and played a few pub gigs before it all fell apart. Denny Burgess never appeared on any recordings for that band. When the band reunited he didn't play with them. Doesn't stop him from pretending that he DID, and even then who gives a flying fek its not a big act to get worked up about even if it were true.

just a creepy old fossil. Wants the magpies back at any cost but it doesn't stop him scoffing his guts at the corporate buffet during WT games any chance he gets. A loser and a fC9kup.

Not at all, offended but I would certainly be hopeful that individuals in such prominent leadership positions in our club wouldn't publicly engage with content that has such a high potential to draw negative press against the club and bring it into disrepute.

Offended, no but personally I do find it creepy...

Depends what you expect from your leaders. You obviously don't expect much and we all respect that.

Being such an open-minded guy as you are, can I assume you respect the opinions of those that feel the opposite to you?

Not speculation. Facts. Why? Who here actually knows? If you want to call it a power grab, or want to say it's because they didn't want independent board members etc- that's fine. But it's as much an opinion as anything anyone else has put forward.

People are arguing opinions as facts & then trying to run other people with opposing opinions down for not simply agreeing.

What are HBG's 'true colours'- based on facts? If you want to come back with "they sacked the board"- WHY?

The board was sacked because HBG felt they should have majority say because they are majority owners. The CEO said it himself.
