Here we go again!

Leaving the run into the finals to the very last minute - AGAIN! This week feels so de javu (sic)
The talk will now centre around - 1 point losses, for and against disasters (e.g. Eels game at Parra), only if's, maybes.
Only problem is the Bulldogs, Rabbitohs, Storm and ?

We do not have the defense or the man power to beat any of the better sides. Their would be a royal commission if we actually started to beat some of the better sides.

Since Sheens took over as coach we have very seldom beat the better sides, their are the exceptions but not many.We are flat track bullies

Let us recount:
We played the Dogs recently without Galloway, Ellis, Farah and had Tuqiri and Matai go down with injury in the 1st half.

With 10 min to go we were 6 points behind and a bomb goes up and Barab knocks on 10m from his line. Decision - Feed to the dogs. They only scored in the last play to extend the lead.

Please. No luck.

Earlier this year, we had the Rabbits. Up by 12 and 10min to go. 5 penalties in a row to the Rabbits for stripping. Look at the replay. Each and every incident was a lost ball in the tackle.

No luck x 2.

Thought we were the better side against NQLD until the injury god decided to even the playing field.

No luck x 3.

Like all things in life, what goes around comes around.

Re: the Souths game we lost coz Benj put Beau over the sideline on tackle 1 when we should have been working for the field goal. That's why we lost possession in the 1st place. But I'm with ya on the other 2.

Lol the Dogs would be cracking up if they saw this thread. Down to their 3rd string halfback and still kicking arse. Name how many sides can do that?

Atleast it's one more week we can hope we play finals footy.

Would't be surprised if we lost to the Dragons and Roosters, and beat Bulldogs and Storm, we have an attitude problem when we go into games as favourites . Going off what ive witnessed in the past couple of weeks we have one hell of a mountain to climb to change our season around, our defence is not Semis type defence and our missed tackles . Our attack is not a problem. This team has been unsettled from the start =no halfback, a fullback that's not a fullback, not being negative just stating the facts IMO….Realistically = think we are gone , but gotta keep hoping.

Moltzen ,Humble ,Miller we are down to our 4th stringer

Pretty handy 4th stringer though

No responsibilty, its always someone elses fault.
The cop-out generation…
Soft!

Agreed and seems Sheens never takes responsibility for it, dodges the tough questions when chips are down.

we have been luckless?? ARE YOU FRIGGIN SRS??

sharks… luck
storm... second game in 3 years they play without their back 3
when we played titans and canberra, they were injury stricken or out of form
our draw.. we play panthers and parra twice.
you mention injuries?? dude we have used 8 friggin halves combos this year... how many spine injuries have we gotten? 1 to tedesco, 1 to sirro.
not to mention the NUMEROUS refs calls that have gone for us.
we have been THE LUCKIEST team this year.

we shot ourselves in the foot with the rabbitohs game with the play marshall did
we had nothing over the cowboys, they were pwning us left right and as always centre.
the barba thing you said, you think that ONE ref call changed the game?? :unamused: :unamused: :brick:

as UD said in another thread, our strength has been that other sides fail to turn up against us. you claiming we have been unlucky is one of the MOST ridiculous things i've ever heard

Agree with you tig_prmz, to late to start looking for excuses, had 24 weeks to put it together . Sheens has some questions to answer . Like Farah said "judge us at the end of the year ", well it's around the corner and looking shaky.

OK - I am new here, but have had the app and read the forum all the time. I am not having a dig here, but Sheens has done more for this club than any one else in the history of this club (perhaps Noycey is the exception).

I remember sitting on the hill at Ctown vs Canberra when the crowd was 3000 people and Hoppa had just been suspended. I remembered the days of Lee Murphy and Joel Caine. Of the Craig Field days, the off-field and on-field ill -disciplines.

I do remember winning in 2005, making the finals in the last couple of years and coming so close to grand final appearances. We have an entertaining team that I LOVE watching…

Perhaps right now it may very well be time for a new fresh approach to the coaching team, but Sheens, as I said has done more for this club then any other coach would have been able to do. I will never ever disrespect or talk down the work Sheens has done at this club and I strongly believe no fan ever should. I love my team and thanks Sheens for the entertaining footy I have been able to watch!

Irony because you mention GC and Raiders having injuries yet it's not an excuse for us.
I don't think it's an excuse for us, I'm just pointing it out.
We played very well against the Raiders the second time and depleted or not 40-0 is a great scoreline.

I think luck has gone both for and against us starting with Tedesco getting injured.
It's been a very patchy season and there has been some flicker of the team playing to their potential. Tigers are a team that generally rise to the occasion against higher placed teams (with the exception of Souths). Most of the close games this season have been with teams in the top 8\. Clearly the potential for us to play well is there it's just a matter of recapturing all the right elements for finals time. (1-1 with Cowboys, Golden point 1st Souths game, 4 point loss to Broncos when they weren't in a slump, golden point win sharks, win Melbourne). In all honesty we have the POTENTIAL to make an impact in the finals but just like every other team there, Dogs and Souths will be the biggest challenge to overcome.

Anyone complaining about our luck this yr should go back to last yr and watch the majority of games in our charge into the finals when we had the luck every single week. Games against the Roosters and Manly spring to mind. Thats footy, sometimes you'll get the rub of the green, sometimes you won't. Accept it and move on

raiders were just out of form.. as i said in my post.

gc were out of form as well + they had their entire halves missing and iirc zillman wasn't playing either.
our injuries are different because our injuries have been season ending, where we had plenty of time to form new combinations yet sheens kept chopping and changing. GC, when we played them had both their halves pull out late in the week.

I don't think it's an excuse for us, I'm just pointing it out.

i also believe in the fact that injuries and luck, you can't control them.. they happen or they dont.. but as i said our draw and some referee decisions have played us in such a position that we have to call ourselves lucky to even be in the top 8 atm. then dimitri coming out and sooking over us being unlucky is moronic to say the least.
