Hindmarsh's Opinion

I always thought Nathan Hindmarsh was a fair sort of bloke..now I can't stand him….:

1) On the Footy show a few months back he really gave it to Farah and virtually said he didn't deserve to be picked in the SOO ahead of Ennis.

2) Today he comes out and says he doesn't rate the Tigers as premiership contenders!...

Well I've got one thing to say to Hindmarsh....your too fat and slow...you've been in the game too long and are taking someones else's deserved spot in the team...go and retire....**oh and one other thing enjoy your end of season trip whilst the Tigers are playing in the semis!!...  **
Here is the article..

Wests Tigers won't make decider: Parramatta captain Nathan Hindmarsh
By Dean Ritchie
August 23, 2010
His side had just been beaten by Wests Tigers in a thriller at Parramatta Stadium but Nathan Hindmarsh did not believe the Tigers would reach the grand final.

The Parramatta captain was speaking moments after the Eels' semi-finals aspirations had been all but killed off.

Asked who would win this year's title, Hindmarsh said: "St George Illawarra are up there for a reason.

"The Sydney Roosters on their day . . . when they hit their straps.

"They are the two stand-out teams for mine."

Asked why he had not mentioned the Tigers, Hindmarsh said: "Wests Tigers are a quality side. But I was asked who would win it and I gave the answer."

Eels coach Daniel Anderson said his side needed a "miracle" to reach the playoffs.

Parramatta's season has never really clicked into top gear. Last year's grand finalists have always appeared just off the pace. They can still make the finals mathematically, but they really don't deserve to be there.

Hindmarsh was crushed that his side only played entertaining football for the final 20 minutes on Sunday - not the full 80 minutes.

"To play for 20 minutes was disappointing," Hindmarsh said.

"They were desperate and they tackled very well. We didn't take our opportunities when we had them.

"We knew our season was on the line."

Hindmarsh said the Eels would have won if Luke Burt had kicked a penalty goal near fulltime to send the match into golden point.

"The style of footy we were playing and the momentum . . . we would have got them in extra time," Hindmarsh said.

You can't stand him because his opinion is different to yours. Fair enough.

and 'cause he bags the Tigers!…it was clear to me that on the footy show a few months back he had no time for Farah as a player....maybe Hindmarsh is still smarting that the Balmain Tigers didn't merge with them before they became the Wests Tigers!....imagine that the Parramatta Tigers!....yuk!

Poor form from Hindy, go suck your dummy mate….we flogged youse in the first game and if WE took our chances yesterday you would have been belted again.

He had a cry after the Origin series as well.

Pull your duds up and take it like a man!!

He is entitled to those comments. No problem with them. However he has never really had any respect for our club. A long list of dismissive comments over the years from memory.

He just gave his opinion and many would agree with him. I don't see a big issue to be honest.

Funnily enough watching the replay last night I couldn't get over what a protected species Hindmarsh is among the reff fraternity. He has to be slower than any other player in the league in terms of getting off the tackled player and he never gets penalised for it. But I guess that is also a reward for his reputation as a tackling machine over the years.

Regardless he is entitled to his opinion on title contenders

He is not lying when he says that St. George have been the standout all year. Don't agree with him on Easts but everyone is entitled to their opinion. Those months back Farah's form didn't really warrant him as a good alternative to Ennis.

Hindy does a lot of work for the community and is a genuine bloke. I'd just say he is upset over yet another season gone begging when he knows his time is almost up.

He's hardly bagging the Tigers. He merely aswered the question put to him. He's entitled to his opinion.

The Tigers may yet still win in 2010 and prove him wrong. One thing for sure is that the Eels will not progress in 2010\. The picture on the back of today's Tele is priceless.

Who cares what he thinks. All I'm interested in is the scoreboard and that was a very pretty sight. Check this out: http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-league/league-news/tigers-on-a-mission-show-their-might-against-fiery-brilliant-eels-20100822-13axb.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.

Agreed, this is a great example of sensationalist reporting, the headline does not match the story, and more specifically his quotes. Can't expect anything less from the DT.

That being said, it is clear that from his past comments that he does not rate us at all. Maybe we won't make the big one, but we certainly have more chance than his team.

Who cares. It's a non-issue. The Tigers won and if Hindmarsh doesn't rate them then fine, it's just more ammunition for the Tigers if anything, if people want to write them off I'm sure it won't bother the players, they'll just use it as a bit of extra motivation.

I agree let on field actions do the talking.
at beginning of season Parra like all other teams, who fielded a legal team, had a chance to make the top 8.
they simply have not won enough games to be there.
this year wests-tigers have.
I am glad wests-tigers are under dogs.
expectation leads to dis-appointment, you still have to put in the effort, parra are realising it today.

Totally agreed. Another Dean Ritchie story created to stir the pot, much like the title to this thread. It's really a non issue IMO. Hindy has been around the traps and is entitled to his opinion. Good luck to the bloke, we'll prepare for the Storm this week and this will all be forgotten. For the record, I'm the one who changed the wording to this title.

Photocopy his comments from the article, blow them up and stick them up all around the dressing room. What more motivation does one need when a leading player in the game doesn't rate us. Nothing like a bit of criticism from your fellow peer's to bring out the best in your game. Thanks Hindy!

You only have to go back over the years and read what Hindy has said about the Tigers, for some unknown reason he has a dislike for our club. At least once a year he puts the knife into us when given a chance. Maybe he says the same thing about all the other clubs when asked. Anyway we will be getting more games in September than he will.

He is still Bitter about 2005,

I recall a snipe on an online show produced for NRL.com shortly after where he said words to the effect" I didnt even watch the 05 grand final as both those teams didn't deserve to be there"

Bad Luck Hindy - I hope the eels win the year after u retire.
