Hip Drop Tackle and Penalty Try

Something doesn’t smell right about the Moses’ tackle on Laulilii.
The Referee totally discarded the one basic law of physics.
“Where the head goes the body follows.”
I feel sure if Moses arm was anywhere else but the head, it’s a try every day of the week.
The law of physics is not an issue in this case. As I quoted from the start if the player would have scored except for unfair play it is a penalty try. Moses committed an unfair tackle he was penalised for it. Luke was on or over the line for goodness sakes. It is a try every day of the week

I feel the hit was very deliberate by Kelma. You take our best forward out of the match you go a long way to winning the game.
Yeah, but they didn’t notice it, deliberately… how could they have seen a hip drop where there isn’t one?

To have not even penalised a send-off worthy shoulder charge (in our first set) actually shows negligence.

The fact he’s now going to be suspended for 3 full matches, should probably tell you all you need to know about the NRL product and duty of care.

Also, we haven’t received an official apology nor will the officials in question (Sutton?), in the bunker and Herman Munster on the field be reprimanded for CLEAR failure of major KPI’s ~ do not unjustly influence the outcome of a game and subsequent competition pts won.

We need a Cameron Smith TBH, just a little brown nose who will polish referee knob allll day long like Andrew Voss - he used to be tolerable, now I prefer Ennis. Just my ten cents…

He landed directly on the line, at the corner post, which says without a high shot or any impact at all really (because the high shot started around Luke’s torso) that he’s definitely not ‘falling’ out as he did after foul play.

Try-scoring situation all day, twice on Sundays.

I don’t think many know that the rule is actually one or the other: penalty try or a bin…

Correct, he was over the line. All he had to do was go to ground.
What do you think prevented him from doing so?

It’s a bloody horrendous product with rules designed to confuse and invalidate the audience. Any other sports world wide where we see this?
If that had happened anywhere between the 2 try lines Moses would have surely been binned. It’s an absolute disgrace.

The hip drop happened and then non sin bin on the shoulder charges due to the way both teams/players chose to play the game. I think May didn’t react because he didn’t want to be sent for a mandatory HIA alternatively there was no risk of Parra losing Kelma unnecessarily from a HIA so he played the penalty perfectly. There was contact with the leg from the hip and Kelma hammed it up. The bunker made a poorly judged decision but it would of been a non event had Kelma jumped to his feet.

There does seem to be a harsher grading for the players that don’t get dealt with in game ie with a sin bin then those that do.
Am I alone in this thought?

That sounds fair and appears to be the case in some instances.

Not too happy about the part where the team that suffered the transgression gets no benefit from it whatsoever at the time of the incident.

I suppose that some satisfaction may be gained from the player in question receiving a greater punishment in the end.

It's that first bit that gets me.
So we loose the game and our players take hits.
Meanwhile our opposition get to face a weekened Parramatta!

The 3 week suspension does not help us at all!
Absolutely crap referring, but no excuses. The game was there if we wanted it.

I get this when we play the better teams in the comp, but Parra are below us and have been playing crap all year. They weren’t a top team last season either, so this makes no sense.

I must admit I thought we might get a bit more respect from the refs this season with players like Luai & Api as our captains, but I was wrong.
The crowds voice died after they kicked the penalty goal we were doomed after 5 mins
