His Ego Wont Be Missed

As for the poor old Wests Tigers, they don’t know it yet but they are better off, too.

We sure as hell do know we are better off.

Just shows how out of touch the media are with the public. Kind of an elitist comment to imply that the fans aren't smart enough to have realized these things like she has.

I'm thinking she meant the club, not the fans. Of course we all realise it, whereas the club still sees the loss of Benji as something to mourn.

i know it's a joke ,but negative vids aren't my go.
i went real close to making a blair one,but felt it was classless thing to do.

like i said,it's more of a joke,but it's not me.

thats awesome stonker. well done.

as for the article, well, just journalism at its worst….

Rebacca Wilson is a clamlapper, she doesn't have any redeeming features herself so makes a living off throwing mud at people….I am sure Benji will be remembered long after that gutter troll hangs up her typewriter. Having said that Benji is a liability for our club at the moment and in no way deserves to go out on his terms with his continued inept, soulless efforts on the field.

So basically, you agree with everything the author wrote except you first had to go and make all sorts of degrading comments about her personhood, of which you really know nothing about - nice :unamused:

Flip this Rebecca Wilson is toxic poison at its worst. She has made her name crapping all over RL and now presents this 'insightful' piece which is nothing but a collection of cut and paste comments from her peers over the preceeding 2 months.

There was no need whatsoever to write yet another colum kicking Marshal in the nuts yet she did so anyway…..to what end? What has he done recently to provoke her to say he thinks he is bigger than the game?

She is vermin and has a far bigger ego than Benji ever could.

I don't read newspapers, so I can't pretend to know what Wilson is like as a journalist. By your comments I assume she is in the same vein as Phil Rothfield?, since he often gets a bagging on here also. I understand that many of the Telegraph league journalists are a bit unsavoury when it comes to reporting on the sport. However, I have never met Wilson and I don't know her to be able to make such degrading comments about her personhood and private life. I'm thinking no one else on here has either, hence, I thought FTB's comments about her were pretty low in that regard - that was my point.

I remember listening to an interview of hers after the footy show debacle and she repeated 4 or 5 times how her friends had told her how beautiful she was. Just incase no one caught it the first time

Who posted this sh*t for f**k's sake can we all leave the man alone, he is going through his own stuff, and people just crucify him 24/7 the majority of you are a disgrace….benji has given me more love for the game then anyone ever has or will, he has handed us a premiership in 2005 and whether you like it or not he is a legend of the game and the club whilst it may have ended in controversial and acromonial circumstances he at least deserves basic respect for his service to both the club and the game, as an inspiration to millions and idol to kids...People used to ask two questions after a tigers game - result and how did benji play. Today i was at the scg and is the 2nd game ive been to this season having attended the parra match a few weeks ago...Benji was solid, looking to get involved some great darts from dummy half and a wonderful run to set up anasta in the first half, reasonably solid defense and only one error during a play the ball from dummy half. How can you people to dig in the spurs when he has played well, seriously give credit where it is due...

I attended todays match for two key reasons:

To watch the birth of a new legend and to pay my respects to an outgoing legend, and quite simply both of them (particuarly brooks) were excellent today. Everytime benji touched the ball i was excited and cheering him on..i myself have criticised him this season but only where it was due. He played well, he tried his ass off and i genuinely believe him when he says this is a sad departure for him. Threads like this especially the comments contained within are disgraceful and incredibly ill timed.

I probably wont be able to attend the match next week but when i watch it on tv i will be standing up the moment marshall appears on my screen out of respect for a man who has played 200 games for our wonderful club and has given us highs no other player was or ever will be capable of. Freedom of expression sure, but criticism should be warranted. Benji 2013 has been rather dismal but today he was good and during his tenure with this club id love someone to tell me we would have achieved anything without him (maybe some finals appearances but a premiership NO) END RANT

Truthfully I think some posters on here need to have a good hard look at themselves. Benji has been great for us. He has possibly been our best player since we became the Wests Tigers. In the history of Balmain and Wests he has been an absolute gun.

He has slowed down and has less good games in him but the over the top BS regarding his character and effort is a disgrace.

JP whilst your rant is over the top, i agree with your sentiments. The comments on here about a bloke who gave us so much for so many years is disgraceful.

Fickle thy name is Tigers fans it seems.

Rebecca Wilson comparing Benji Marshall to James Hird …. enough said.
The Daily Telegraph, Rupert Murdoch and all his crony journalists lost me a long time ago.
It's unfortunate for those who like to read newspapers to have to put up with Ruperts bitter, one eyed vitriolic gutter crap. And all those who earn a living sucking up to him.

Whats a James Hird? Does he play for that Karmine Shobbly fellow at the Geater Western Stink?

Marshall had a dig today, still had moments in defence where you question his desire but he just needs to keep trying for the remainder of the year

Marshall can only get better at the tail end of 2013.. For his sake (legacy) and the reputation of WT.

I'm sick of Marshall and feel his exit has left a nasty taste.

But still, Rebecca Wilson is a trolling scumbag and nothing she writes has an iota of value. Reading her garbage is like listening to your christian aunt tell you why your ex girlfriend was no good for you: technically possibly true but not for any of the reasons she says, and also delivered in a way which makes you want to strangle her.

Benji could of had a major dummy spit about playing in the centres but from what I heard on the radio he seemed to play arguably his best game for the year

I've been on your case ,but Happy will give you a thumbs up for todays performance until I see a replay next week

Liam was interviewed on ABC Grandstand today and just praised Benji to the skies ,praised his efforts in working with Brooks and the way he worked hard to try and learn about playing centre

["Time and time again, these guys (Anthony Mundine, the AFL’s Brendan Fevola, Hird, Todd Carney, Marshall, SBW) allow the managers and the apologists to lull them into a sense of superiority. Those on the team bus pad them with cotton wool and excuse their poor manners."

The article lost me very early but the above quote sums up how this article was just to sell papers. To scratch around for a common denominator between the above players/coach is a downright joke and taking her readers for a ride. Each person has arrived at their crossroad through a different means. They should be not mentioned in an article together.

Don't think he played centre a lot.

It was more of we have a game plan and structure, inject yourself where appropriate and help speed up the DH once Luani interchanged off

the best part about benji leaving is that i wont have to read Zoe's smug bullshit column for too much longer…..'me and benji spent last night snuggling eating takeaway watching our favourite mini-series Friends'.....cringe worthy stuff....worst part is she gets paid for it and her husband gets paid to play rubbish football
