If the NRL heirachy were to be remotely believed any tackle which jeopardizes the safety of a players head/neck was supposed to be punished pretty severely, hence the crackdown on shoulder charges (unless you are Kane Evans of course). What sort of suspension would Hodges have got if it ended in a broken neck?….regardless of whether or not his buddy went in to bat for him at the tribunal. Double standards need to be eradicated from the judiciary process.

The match review committee obviously thought he had a significant role in that tackles' outcome or else it wouldn't even have got to the judiciary. I sure will be interested to see the punishment for the 1st bloke next season who commits a similar offence.

The easiest solution for this in the future that any players who admit at a judiciary they faked get a Grade 3 contrary conduct charge and get a three week holiday

I remember Campbell Brown (AFL player) got into trouble after admitting he lied about being eye gouged by Chris Judd which cost Judd a Brownlow medal.

i've said it before and i'll say it again coz this is something i absolutely hate.
players should be held responsible for putting THEIR ownself in a risky position. ducking your head into tackles, leading into a tackle with your head, jumping in tackles to milk a penalty etc. i understand there's a fine line but something needs to be done to stop these idiots from milking penalties and putting themselves at risk

This is a great outcome, Guerra speaking up. The focus now hopefully will reduce the frivolous charges being placed on the players via the match review committee who have little to no accountability.

Players are allowed to defend themselves also. They are allowed to bring evidence. Justin asked Guerra, and he agreed to present his version.
Whether or not Guerra would do the same for Reed or Blair is up to him, and consider whatever circumstances he deems is suitable. This is his choice, and right!
