Just went through the profiles of the players, I could not find one front rower over 105 kg, we rave about the young talent coming through this club yet the one thing they never get is some muscle up front. You can have great backs (which we have) but without grunt up front it means very little. Some one at the club needs to address this problem.

They are only young once they get to around 20-22 then they start to bulk up.

i still remember facing up against a few monsters in the u15 and u16s, 105kg+, one kid was 6 foot 7, 115kg (no exageration whatsoever). Absolutely flattened my mate over the try line who was a solid 85kg

but i doubt they were fit enough to play holden cup, probably had to slim down if they wanted to play there

I am aware of that fact they will bulk up as they get older, what I was saying is that most of the other sides have huge font rowers to call on and, if we had the same, with the talent we have in the backs, well how much easier would it be.

The best front row pairing we have had in the 20's were Woods and Fifita. I think Dallas Graham has some potential though, and Gavet as well, he's 6"5 so it's just a question of when he fills out before he becomes a monster.

I too get worried when our props aren't big, as this seems to be one common ingredient in successful NYC teams.

However going off the form in the trials (beating last years premiers - panthers, and the sharks very comfortably) i'm not too worried. We'll see what happens come this weekend but if size up front were a big issue i don't think we would have put 40 + 36 points past those two teams respectively.

And upon checking just now we do have Daniel Ravkin at prop and 107kgs, and Liolevave in the 2nd row at 112kg. Then with Graham, Masila and Funaki at about 102 (and probably going to increase as time passes) i think we'll be fine. Woods will also gradually bulk up too.

Dooner is the worrying inclusions, as he often seems to start yet is only in the low-mid 90s…? Must be the nephew of someone in the coaching staff

Penrith was nothing like their top squad and the Sharks are bottom feeders, time will tell.

The Hill - you want size upfront and we could get that if the tigers didnt pay so much money for the superstars. Go ask the club how much money they spent on kids that they have let go over the last two years. Dooner played 20 games last year and his defence was excellent, we had big Richard Ene and he made too many mistakes and just didnt come back. Some of our best players last year in the forwards were under 100kgs

well I think may post proved that if u don't compete up front nothing else matters. So all the great talent we have is going to play behind a crap forward pack, good way to lose the good kids.

Dragons pack totally dominated ours today. But then they had much more possession so of course they'd eventually crack us again and again.

Looking at our starting team today we only had 5 x 20 year olds 2 of which are forwards, we also had 2 x 20 year olds on the bench. This leaves us with 5 x 20 year olds not playng for various reasons, I believe we need as many of them on the field as possible given that we lack size.
At least that extra year of development and experience will help strength wise, 7 of the boys in the starting team today had not played at this level before. The Schoolboy Cup isn't anywhere near this level plus they only play 25 minutes a half in that competition, I just don't think the majority of our younger kids are up to this level just yet hence todays result.
