Home Ground situation needs to change

Agree with all the points, the players don’t feel comfortable by the looks of things, they need a place to call home, at the moment they look like They don’t fit in anywhere and that just shoots your self esteem and confidence. This is up to the management to get right.

It's idiotic and embarrassing having Wests tigers home ground in the middle of Parra territoty. West Tigers are sacrificing their long term solid supporters for the sake of extra $$$. I will that every Wests tiger player has not felt at home at any BankWest match. West Tigers administrators atr laughable fools.

As a WT member for the BankWest games, I can say after 4 games our fans are not supporting us there, for all 4 supposedly home games our fans were outvoiced and outnumbered…we only won 1 of the 4 games there and that was a fluke…6 LO + 6 CSS, is what we should be doing, if we can’t afford that , then we should hand in our NRL license. I’m over not having a Home ground advantage, we have quickly lost our identity…

My thoughts exactly. Bankwest is great. Excellent facilities but it just does not feel like a home ground at all. I don't think it ever will. I've done the 4 home games there too and I'm glad its done for the year. We were embarrassed by the Raiders and Roosters fans there in recent weeks who generated far more noise and atmosphere than us.

Today there was a good number of Tigers fans there. It was great to see. But we seem to sit so far apart. At ANZ and SFS in years gone by the members and fans were usually across a couple of bays where we could generate a bit of noise and excitement. At BW we spread the entire length of the field on the lower and upper decks. Opposition supporters then purchase the seats in between. At ANZ or SFS it was rare to see more than a couple of opposition fans seated in the so called "members bays". At BW we sit scattered everywhere and we generate almost zero atmosphere.

After the game people have to walk to the train station, pack crowded buses to get to the station, walk a long way to get to their car or pay an expensive fee to park somewhere close. We are spending money at the Eels leagues club before and after the game and so are the opposition fans. Yet we have a ground at Campbelltown that has probably the best parking situation of any ground in the NRL and its free. A train station at the front door and a League Club that supports the local jnr league. I wish we could have 6 and 6 set up again but those days are long gone unfortunately and we now need to manage with just 6 proper home games a year.

At least the next game is at Leichhardt!

If We are inner west team than it’s revamped ANZ if we are outer west team than it’s a partnership with the Outer west footy crowd at Campbeltown.
Bugger if I know where that leaves our high performance facility at Concord.

@Madge Today proved one thing the crowd today was 25k with a Tigers side playing garbage and a good roll up for the opposition , so the fans will come to a top class arena . The 2 suburban grounds can not hold more the 18k , so the logic about playing there is mute as the club will just stagnant and will not allow for growth . The other point is these guys are professional athletes what you have said insults these players , if that is the case they would not feel comfortable on any of the 5 home grounds we have .
If the team actually had some quality footballers they would be totally comfortable at this ground , ask a player about the facilities this ground offers to them compared to the other 2 archaic sheds under grandstands you might be surprised with there response .. ANZ would offer the same but in a REALLY soulless environment.

@NJLM78 Not the Fortress 😂 hopefully there will not be more than 16 k wanting to attend as heaps will miss out ! .. but who gives a rats heh👍

@Snake - We know your feelings Snake.

I'd take Leichhardt over BWS any day and I would bet most of the players would as well. Just my opinion.

I dunno. Jennings, for one, looks like he loves BWS.

@Russell So if Farahs 300 is at Leichhardt thousands will miss out on a great day ... is not that a bit selfish but then again that is what this debate is about is it not ! Those of us that want to have somewhere for ALL of us not just for a few of us...

@Snake - You just need to get in early - Members already have tickets don't they?

Therefore it is the opposition that are the ones that miss out. I feel sorry for them, not!!

Snake, there's no reason to be antagonistic. Discussion about home ground is often just difference of opinion. I'm pleased there's at least one fan out there that loves bankwest. Hopefully after a couple of years there'll be even more who like it there.

I don't think sold out games with too many fans wanting to come is a situation that the club would find problematic. I'm also okay with 15 000 parra fans missing out on the game, especially when we get nothing extra financially for them being there. I also think Farah would pick Leichhardt to play his 300th over any other stadium. In fact, it's a shame Benji's 300th couldn't have been there or at campbo.

More than likely if Robbie's 300th is at Leichhardt 3 inches of rain will fall the day before the game and 3 inches will fall during the game

We are WT's fans ....we know the drill .....God wants a laugh ......he doesn't love us

Me too. I just much prefer Leichhardt and campbelltown to both of them. And my preferences aside, playing at those grounds is the best move for the club. Those grounds keep us connected to our fans.

I must also say it was good to meet @innsaneink and @steven_tiger at the game today, thanks for the beer Steve!

Four games there and heard the same things at each match from all the different opposition supporters and our own. Our jungle, hahaha and the Olympic stadium was a better fit.

Everyone seems to like the facilities and particularly the seating, but for many, little else about the place.

Also, I feel that I have given this new ground a good shot by attending all our seated days, but at this stage am unsure whether we will be getting our 8 seats there again next year. Right now I would say no and will need some convincing to renew them, regardless of the great match view from them.

G'day @Blaze: I mentioned in another post the only way Bankwest :skull_and_crossbones: could be considered as Our home ground would be if We were included at the planning stage knowing it would be a shared stadium with the Eels, cheers :relaxed:
