Honest opinions

PymblePete,I was trying to tell Tiger in the Gong that some people do antagonise others but mainly in banter…...

The sarcasm I was referring to was some other threads where you make a point on a subject and others use sarcasm to put your opinion down, that was my point.....

My honest opinion is there are a couple of massive knobs on here who love nothing more than antagonising other regular posters after a loss.

Pretty much the same garbage ruining most decent and constructive discussion. Best way to pick them is the genuine lack of their own opinion and the way they worm themselves out of the original antogonistic comment and place it back on the person they were picking on for reacting.

Its going to be a long season!

Sorry must of missed that Gong

All I saw was a disagreement between some people who have the one passion , our WT's

Good ,bad or ugly we love them , lets just hope they can gradually improve during the trials and leave 110% on field every week

I think Gong is also referring to 'stalkers'

Whose stalking who this time

Rowdy was well,Rowdy, nothing new here,Ava looked fitter and ran hard,Santi surprised,Kev was great,Mania looks the goods,Buchanon has improved.
Simona seems to have lost heaps of pace,Akoula"s front on defence is bad,Luani looks like he is headed for the backrow and Drinkwater whilst no star seems a steady backup.
All in all I am more confident heading into round 1 than I was last friday, bring on the real stuff I say, can't wait.

Fair enough.

Huh? The fact that you would try to "pick them" is an indicator that you value your input here too much. Get a life, mate. It's a forum. People talk crap. Get over it!!

Thanks for your 'honest opinion' LCA.

Unfortunately my post come across as anti forums or critical of people with genuine passion and opinions.

Wasnt really the case, a few people understood where i was coming.

As for the value of my opinion, if at least a couple of people understand or appreciate my posts thats all well and good. Im not on here to boost my ego or improve how i feel in my day to day life. Im doing quite ok thank you very much

I took only one thing out of the nines tournament for us.

There was a shift in attitude and EVERY player looked like they had a little more attitude than previous. As they say, the game is attitude and defense is attitude. I watched players chase hard after the ball. I watched players chase hard to stop tries in the bonus zone. I didn't see ANY player chasing someone down and give up halfway down the field.

I took nothing about individual skills, form or anything like that.

But I did notice that attitude….and that pleases me.

LCA a lot of the posts from yesterday got deleted

It was pretty crazy on here yesterday , I can understand where Gong was coming from

Fortunately it's all good today , a few hatchets were buried and others smoked the peace pipe

I hate how negative it can get in here after a loss.

When we're winning everyone is happy, as soon as we lose everyone is an expert.

I understand that forums are used for this exact purpose… To express opinions.

Overall as a whole we have limited knowledge of plans from within, for not only short term- but long term.

But are quick to tear down our own club for not doing it the way that I want etc.

A bit hypocritical from me, however, this is what this thread is about. Honest opinions.

I actually really enjoyed the 9's. Pleasantly surprised with how our team of fringe first graders went, considering I gave them no chance.

For me the main disappointments were;
LAWRENCE: Big disappointment, seen no improvement. Don't want him at centre.
SIMONA: A little disappointed, seemed to lack his normal speed. Still first choice centre.
SUE: Disappointed, was hoping to see more improvement with lots of offloads. See how he goes early rounds in 1st's.

NAQUIAMA: Stand out performances. Showed hunger in every area. Could play centre or wing and would be happy for him to get a go in 1st's.
SANTI: The workhorse we need to replace Fulton.
DRINKWATER: Pretty good, good backup for Moses and Brooks.
BUCHANAN: Big improvement in leg speed and leg drive. Pushes for bench spot.
LIO: Some good signs, only looks good for short minutes atm.

Finally: I'm very excited about FUNAKI. He runs great lines, good hitups and defence. Fell off some tackles but I think he has a huge future. Would love to see him get some bench time. Very inexperienced but his potential is above Sue imo.

Forgot AKOULA: Disappointed. Runs hard, but can fall off a tackle. Was hoping for a big improvement. I'd have FUNAKI in front of him.

Looking forward to seeing Lawrence Of Leumeah in action again this year. His form has been down in the last couple of years but Im confident given luck with injury he will come good.

Pretty much agree with all of this.

Iam with u demps , funaki was a stand out, he may need a 1/2 season more before been ready, but he is a real talent.
also thought buchanan has turned the corner he was great and maybe JT has got him going in the right direction.
brown also looked a lot better than last year.
naquiama and drinkwater were our best two players both gave 150 %.

So you had no issues with the game plan for the Roosters game ??

We are a professional football club , we should be going for the win

Honestly, I'm excited. Apart from our back row depth that looks a little skinny(, but still confident one of the youngsters can step up)

Bring on the footy

Our Centre stocks don't look too flash either.

Naiqama went ok but remember it was the 9s im real concerned about his size and his ability to defend especially on our line, he's a liability, teams will just run plays at him and there's no way he will stop a guy close to the line he's just too light. Small guys in this day and age need to be really special to survive in the nrl.

Mate I hated the fact that Simona and Richards were both rested.

However, were they injured?
Were they precautionary?
Were they not played to give others who are fighting for spots a chance to trial in those positions?

No coach will go out picking a squad to lose a game. So there has to be a reason why they weren't played. What a club passes on and doesn't pass on we will never know.

There would be reasons for everything that goes on. And as we don't know the reasons. I find it's hard to jump to conclusions.

I don't agree with all decisons made. Not at all.

Chris heighnington not jumping on a ball. Is a problem that I would jump all over him for not doing. That's black and white.

Why certain players aren't played, recruitment strategies long term And short term? We don't know enough.
