If I may digress, in chess some devout Jewish players interpret their religion that they cannot play or work on the Sabbath of Saturday. And as there is prize money in chess tourneys that is considered as work. So they get around it by having an assistant write down the moves (as is required under chess laws) and then presumably it is only a game or something like that. I always thought a distraction to the opposing player's concentration so not fair. With a bit of innovation and Christian lawyers surely they can find a loophole. But strictly speaking he should decide if he is a professional player or not.
If your faith in strong enough, you do what is required, because you want to - you don't go looking for loopholes - then you would be a hypocrite.
I am sure it would be in the contract he signed - so therefore the Bulldogs would know of his requirements. If they make the GF then they will have to deal with it the same as the Bulldog supporters will have to - if it costs them the GF then maybe that is God's will.
Good on him for standing up for his faith - far too little of it these days in my opinion.
If the good Lord has his finger in sabotaging the Bulldogs in the GF then surely Tabsport etc should be notified at season beginning so that the Bulldogs odds of winning the GF are blown out accordingly. If this notification does not occur then it implies that God is happy with mug punters losing the shirt off their back.

Are you saying that God should put up a notification about this. Hardly. The people of the world have free will, it is up to them to find out if Hoppa is going to play or not should they reach a GF.
Think He has a few more things to worry about than notifying Tabsport.
