After winning only 4 games in 2022 and signing Api Koroisau, David Klemmer, Isaiah Papali'i, John Bateman and Charlie Staines........ How the hell did 2023 get worse?

That ET is an excellent question .
Is it cause we didn’t remove all the cancer ? That we focused so heavily on the forwards we forgot about backs ? Did we allow ourselves to get caught up in nostalgia ?
All probably true but I’m sure we never thought it would get worse.
Ok, so we’re do we start looking for a solution to our problems.
1. ALL of the cancer must be removed
2. Now our pigs are in place, much more focus on our backline composition, training, game plan,etc.
3. Utilise nostalgia for good, what has worked and what hasn’t .
Chairman to call all players, officials etc together to read them the riot act about NON PERFORMANCE. If unfixable in current format we repeat step’1
Plus a hundred other 1%ers that add up to ……?

remove all the cancer is correct , still some there
I think we should have gone with Flanno / Marshal / Furner / Farah
i would speak to every player Monday individually and read them there goods and bad then also tell the ones who are poor last chance they need a marked improvement next week or elase
if we have cap space go buy a centre and a Half from Pommy land if there none hear , Bateman will know who to buy he just played 2 seasons there
Call Storm see if they want Noffa , pay half his wage and get it done , big Ken gone that’s 2 spots

Papai doesn’t look like he wants to be there , said this yesterday after the camera was on him ,, he also just had a quick trip to NZ. , no idea why but alarm bells for me , my prediction he want see it out

Don’t forget that our main problem last year was our huge injury toll.
This year we have a fully fit squad + these good players - our deadwood lazy bastards. We have also had a soft start.

We have improved a bit because the blowouts have stopped & the team is actually trying to win
You can see that in the second halves of all of our four games we had the chance to win but we still have last year's cobwebs to shake off
We need to start winning soon otherwise like you said it will get worse much worse

I saw another post somewhere which I totally agreed with. If you signed the players we signed to just about any other team, you are competing for a premiership that year, Yet here we are battling it out for another spoon.

He isn't as bad as Brooks and Doueihi but what a dud contract.
Tupou is playing so well.

Yep. Our big name signings have been pretty good to great. I thought Bateman was a high risk signing. Maybe he was but that guy is killing it.
IP is fine. He is looking frustrated but maybe that is a good thing.
The two worst offenders are Brooks and Doueihi. I can't consider Laurie in that group because he isn't on a good contract and performs better than those two.
Our spine is the issue...
Brooks - he is so stale and lacks any competitive ability. He needs to be shown the door immediately
Douihei - suffering from the age old "I'm not as good as I think I am" syndrome. I could see him improving but this isn't the academy, we need players now. His weak hearted efforts over the past few games make me question he even wants to be a professional rugby league player.
Laurie - effort is there I guess but he's a flyweight without and footballing smarts. He has some speed and that's about it for him. He'd probably look like a weapon in local comp stuff but he isn't first grade standard and I don't think he ever will be...
Throw in the likes of the career long flop Talau, and David Too Cool Nofoaluma... that's where the issue lies.
