Really? The only thing he didn't achieve at the Warriors was winning the GF in 2011.

He rebuilt Penrith with mixed results and laid the base that Anthony Griffin now benefits from.

Yeah I thought Toovey had it for sure…

What happened there..?

I heard the drawings on his Resume when presented to Pascoe were brilliant… He also had moving parts on some of his pictures and Justin knew straight away that Ivan was the best bloke possible to paint the Gym in the off-season.

Its just a rumour, no solid sauce!

He submitted his resume, the club went through a rigerous process and made a recommendation to the board. The board accepted and he was given the job.

He is our great white haired hope. He has my support until he proves otherwise.

I wasn't a member of the forum when JT joined but that was my stance with him and potter and sheens and all the coaches before them.

Ivan is the man WT need, he wont get walked over and will have a clear direction.

Panthers turn around had everything to do with what Ivan setup.

I think a more pertinent question is "why did Ivan take the job?"

Spot on. He is the only one qualified for a rebuild. I think that this was a major consideration for the board. The reality is no one has given any signs of wanting to play for WT the players performances have been terrible and Woods and Ted keep deflecting and praising other clubs management. They were probably hopeful of keeping the players together but understood it's more likely they leave.

Cmon. We all know stats lie (usually :deadhorse: )

Looking at "the stats" we should have beaten Melbourne comfortably … for example

I think it is definitely in the "intangibles" that Cleary stood out, things like tough decisions, rebuilding, man management, gaining players respect etc
For what it is worth - Good appointment as far as I am concerned

Well said

Got the Warriors to a GF, no easy feat and re built Penrith. He is the right fit for us and outside Cleary the only other guy I would have jumped is Bellyache and he was not available. Cleary is calm, level headed, determined ,his own boss and experienced.

Still no guarantee he will be a successful, but if he can get some cattle onboard he will get the club back in the media for positive reasons

I think he applied for it.

Dont take any notice of the last year at penrith. During the year they had over a dozen mnajor injuries. Round 26 they had 10-13 players out i believe and used a dozen halves pairings during the year..

He rebuilt the warriors and took them to the grand final. He rebuilt the panthers and took them too the top 4 before the following year when all those injuries hit. If they had a full side that year they would of been in top 4 again.

Hes the man for the job. Still not convinced? go to the warriors forum. They want him back 😂😂
